Re: New member, with a question

When I bought the PCX the dealer did not even mention that Honda makes a different windscreen. Is it worthwhile, and what does exorbitant cost mean? I think here in the US the cost is around $300. o_O (probably why it wasn't mentioned!) I paid ~$200 shipped for mine from Webike, so it wasn't that m...

I agree on the cost of the Honda tall windscreen, but I disagree about its performance. What is it you don't like about it?

Re: Favorite windshield?

I consider a real windscreen to be a piece of safety equipment. Because of that, I'd only install one made from polycarbonate (Lexan). That limited my choices to either National Cycle's or Honda's tall screen. My guess is that Honda is probably the only company doing any airflow testing or modeling....

Re: Oil going low

Retry, your not alone in your experience. I have a 2013 150 PCX, now up to 51,000km or about 30,000miles. I find the need to top up my oil to the sum of about 250ml every 1000km. Or 50ml per fil up roughly. I recognize my riding habbits have contributed to the wear, but figure since I just love rid...

Re: Scuffs and a melt!

The bike plastics. The warning that comes with the tall Givi is not to face the bike away from the sun, with the inside of the screen causing a concave reflection concentrated back onto the plastics. Wow! I don't remember my Honda tall windscreen having the same warning. I'll have to find the insta...

Re: Extra helmet?

I've thought about this myself, but eventually decided that the request happens so infrequently (I've given rides twice in six years of scooter ownership) that it wasn't worth buying extra helmets for "I wanna ride!" passengers. And how many helmets do you buy for occasional guests? For ef...

Re: Scuffs and a melt!

I guess it depends on how much it would bother you to see the scars every time you ride? If you use a light touch you might get the front scrapes acceptable, but the footpeg area is going to be more difficult to make pretty again. Regarding the Givi, is it the bike plastic or the windscreen that's d...

ye I was shocked to see it being slimy and sludge surprised it didn't cause damage to the gears inside unless it will down the line maybe cause bearing failure but I guess I see Good call to change all of the fluids on a new-to-you machine! If it were mine I'd probably do another gear oil change af...

Re: Hi

Congratulations on both the new PCX and the SH-150i. The SH-150i was the scoot I wanted when I went shopping (2015), but the only new ones still available were priced about 50% higher than the PCX. Oh, and the salesman was ass, so that didn't help .... Like others have said, adding taller win...

Re: Excited PCX owner......Pictures

Looks great! Congratulations! I love my Honda tall screen. It's the best 'upgrade' to my PCX, along with my Shad 39L top box. Both items make trips more comfortable and enjoyable. Does anyone make a brake light kit for the Kappa? So far (3-1/2 yrs & 5,000 miles) I haven't had any punctures, than...

When motorbike ads were fun

These days it seems like everyone's obsessed with speed.
Can't we go back to just having fun?
This Yamaha ad reminds me of Honda's ads from the same time period.

Re: 2019 PCX Puig Windshield - Review

If I do get a taller screen, it will have to be shorter than this one, as I would be looking through it, so your account will save an expensive mistake. Is there an issue with looking thru the windscreen? The Honda Tall screen isn't all that tall and I can easily view over the top of it while ridin...

Re: Windshields, helmet buffeting, and top end speed issues.

I bought a used Slipstreamer windshield off Craigslist for $40. It mounts with brackets on the handle bar. Not as sleek as the ones that bolt in the stock position. BUT IT WORKS GREAT! It allows air up and under, no buffeting. You can adjust the lean angle, and the height. It blocks the wind more b...

Re: How long does it take for the engine oil to warm up?

This thread makes me feel a little better about leaving home on my PCX's. My 100'-long driveway is perpendicular to a 50 MPH, two-lane state highway on a slight curve where most traffic flows at 55-60+ MPH. My instinct tells me no more than half-throttle up to about 30-45 MPH for a few minutes befo...

Re: Windshields, helmet buffeting, and top end speed issues.

I have the Honda Tall Windscreen, but have not used any other brands on my PCX. Looking at the design/contours of it, I suspect that Honda did at least some wind tunnel testing on it. I haven't noticed any objectionable buffeting or noise, and it definitely improved my top speed, fuel economy, and q...

Re: Topbox cheap tail light

Where would I and How would I fasten this to my scoots tail! (No tailbox on mine). Maybe you could replace the rear reflector with the LED? That's what I did here . By the looks of it you'd have to make your own mount for the LED to use, but that should be easy! We can’t do that over here in the UK...
