Alleykat's PCX - Houston,TX
I like seeing what crazy designs people come up with. Most of the ideas are not for me but every now and then I see something that is really brilliant that I would like to have on my ride if I wasn't so tight with my money. For example, I really love the white powder coated rims, but I know I would ...

I think the Ranger is a re-badged Mazda, at least they used to be. Should be pretty reliable.

Re: Dynabeads and the PCX
I went with the Ride-On Tire Balancer & Sealer. I seemed to notice a smoother ride but can't really say for sure since I hadn't put many miles on the bike or tires previously. The tire sealant feature was what I was mainly interested in. Pretty simple to install http://www.motorcyclepartsandacce...

Poor gas mileage
I just got back from a 30 mile round trip tonight right through the middle of downtown Austin which I do every Sunday. That's about my limit so far.

My dealer wants about $400 for the first service check, so I will wait for a nice day and do it myself using EddieC's helpful how to and save myself about $395. I don't think I'm too hard on the throttle but I'll keep an eye on it for a while.

Was low 27f -high 50f For a few days last week, but now is back to normal temps of 60-75f. Another cold front on the way and then back to warmer weather. I'll take this over the 90 plus days this year with temps over 100F. Much tougher to ride in the summer than the winter here.

At 6'1" I think it would be more comfy if I could sit farther back on the seat.

Poor gas mileage
After having put 700 miles on the scooter, I am consistently only averaging 80 MPG. I am 6'1" tall and 185 lbs. The only mod so far has been a Givi 322 windscreen, which hasn't affected the mileage at all. I use the scooter mainly to commute to work 4 miles each way and never have the throttle ...

Hope it gets much better MPG's than the Honda Silverwing. Otherwise, not interested. Lots of expensive bikes and scooters that go fast but get mediocre MPG's.

Thanks Dave. From what I've seen on the interwebs the Ride-On sealant is a much improved version of the Slime product.. Second video shows a very clean tire removal. I think I'll give it a shot.

Re: Woolley's PCX
In Oregon it never cost extra to have a motorcycle license with a drivers license. Same here in Texas. When I moved here over ten years ago the DMV simply included my Oregon motorcycle license on my new Texas drivers license no test or additional fees of any kind required.
