Re: Engine management light flashing. \ECU reset

So here are the codes, from both my Metropolitan and Forza (the PCX 125/150 use the same PGM-FI): - 1: MAP sensor (intake vacuum) - 7: ETC sensor (coolant temp) - 8: TPS sensor (throttle opening degrees) - 9: IAT sensor (int. air temp) -12: injector -21: Oxygen sensor -29: IACV (idle speed air valve...

Re: Engine management light flashing. \ECU reset

You may think it is running well, but it is probably not (with that MIL blinking) : the ECU, sensing a problem, has self-adjusted to a pre-set, rideable data value for the defective sensor/component. BASED ON OTHER SIMILAR HONDA SCOOTS : Now, if you want to know which component is at fault : locate ...

Re: Hello I’m a newbie

FOA,

- nobody says sliders are bad. It's just that Honda rollers are good enough, and reliable.
Then getting both better acceleration AND top speed from sliders (with a given horsepower) is
simply impossible.
- why dyno a f...ing scooter.

Re: Making the rear brake pads last???

So I phoned FORTNINE, and they have the Front EBCs (SFA388HH /50$), but not the
Rears (SFA 415HH).

Now with 5 new pad sets, 'pieces' of mind haha.

Re: Making the rear brake pads last???

I know. The Deltas are already coming, from England, and much cheaper than Honda's.
Anyway, do you have the EBC p/n for the front ones - not found in local dealer's dated (?) catalogs ?

Re: Making the rear brake pads last???

Thanks Dave,

I'll order both Fronts and Rears from Delta. Damn, I had just put new stock ones on...think I may
throw those away as I HATE them !!!

Re: Making the rear brake pads last???

Where can I get those DELTA pads (never heard of them)? Then 44,000km out of front pads, wow. Are they stock, or Delta too? Mine's are stock and won't last much more than the rear ones (with all pads showing even wear). With everything else beeing 'normal' (pistons, sliders etc), I don't quite under...

@springer,

Most of us using Premium do it for fear of ethanol. Regular's octane rating otherwise is ok for all
but a very few engines made today.

As Lyndon Johnson once told Lester B. : you can have all the fantasies you wish for, not pissing on
my shoes. Canadians have been 'quiet' ever since.

Re: Hello I’m a newbie

Not everybody shares your enthusiasms: Open exhausts are just noisy crap, an an insult to civilized ears. Moreover, their real power gain is near zilch. As to the slider thing, see how quickly they wear down ( mine's rollers are still fine @23.5K). Or: Honda engineers know a thing or two about varia...

Re: Fork oil checking

@ 13Kkm, both mine's forks showed the factory oil capacity, plus it was surprisingly clean looking. I used 10w BelRay as a replacement... couldn't see any difference. It still HATES potholes... that's what small wheels/2.5 inch travel are all about. The triple clamp bolts were torqued to the death, ...

Re: Forza Steering Bearing

Checking the steering adjusting nut's torque is no easy task. It requires removing the handlebar (lots of stuff hanging around it), then a special Honda 32mm deep socket to loosen the top (lock) nut, then another special tool to torque that adjusting ringnut itself. I find this the most complicated ...

Re: Why Is The Throttle So Hard To Control At Slow Speeds?

A series of full throttle starts will cure a juddering clutch only sometimes, and then only for a while. More like, telling yo-yo he's a cret*n ...comes back after a while with a vengeance hahaha. Take it apart and clean it, takes an hour or so, and there are good chances the cure will last. With th...

Re: Why Is The Throttle So Hard To Control At Slow Speeds?

Mr Jones is obviously not aware of BMW's very poor reliability record, particularly in recent years. I wouldn't trust one to last 65000km like his parking-lot-wrecked Forza did. The Forza, like any other mechanical compromise, has its own limitations, but to call it 'cheap' as compared to RUINOUS co...

Re: Why Is The Throttle So Hard To Control At Slow Speeds?

At very low speeds, ANYTHING with 2 wheels becomes treacherously difficult to handle, however refined. I once fell from an Fi-XT250 trying to circle a dime and broke about 300$ worth of stuff. My XT was working just fine. Not so sure about that Forza (mine handles much better under said circumstance...

Re: Why Is The Throttle So Hard To Control At Slow Speeds?

Not normal at all. Mine is still super smooth @ 26K (it became a bit jerky at around 2-3K , had to clean up the clutch).
Cleaning the clutch is quite easy, but I've seen old farts screwing it up.

Re: Why Is The Throttle So Hard To Control At Slow Speeds?

Have a good mechanic check the CVT operation. Once its cover is off, it is no big deal to see what's
wrong.

Re: 7850 miles on original rear tire!

I only got 9819 km (6101 miles) out of my original ScootSmart tire but at 8121 km I picked up an industrial staple. I unknowingly rode 60 km home with a deflating tire. It was flat the next day. It was plugged until I got a new tire 1698 km later. Michelin CityGrips are hard to get here. They have ...
