Re: May Be Moving On from the PCX
X-Town300i ABS ? I liked what I saw and read about the X-Town300i when I first heard about it. But they sold out quick in my area. None to be had that I can see at any local dealerships. I think there is one 400 still available though but more than I need. I also bounced around the idea of some oth...

Re: May Be Moving On from the PCX
WN - It is a difficult decision for me. . .. From videos/pictures I've seen the new Forza will still have the upside down horn/turn signal arrangement. I guess Honda puts it on other products also but it's a feature that I have to think about too much. I've tried to work around it but sometimes in a...

Re: Lights Went Dim on KLR 650
This is so true Good point! Every thing on the KLR has been fine up until that fateful ride I took recently when things turned ugly. The battery holds it's usual charge when the bike sits. . .days. . .weeks. . .sometimes. . .so there is nothing shorting or causing a drain that way. And don't forget...

May Be Moving On from the PCX
I wanted to share some news with the forum that I may be moving on from my PCX into another ride. . .. :o Sadly I've got to consolidate my scooter situation and I'm going to trade my Roughhouse and PCX in towards something else. Time, space, and practicality are at work here. I've been asking myself...

The thing with bees, hornets, and wasps is that you have to let them know who's boss! o_O That said it was a good excuse to pour another one. . .. ;) I hate it when you're riding and one hits you and drops into your lap. . .I've been stung in the leg a couple of times. . .sneaky critters. :o

Re: Lights Went Dim on KLR 650
I just bought the stator for now. Figured I'd start with what I think is the culprit first. If I was wrong then I'll keep the OEM I remove as a spare and then move to replace the regulator/rectifier with a new one. It will surely be cheaper than that stator was. Stupid me filled up the KLR tank just...

Re: Lights Went Dim on KLR 650
Good luck, and I hope you find the problem. Thanks Mel. . .and good advice! The battery was new only months ago. I put a meter on it with the motor running to see if there was any change in the reading approaching 14.3 volts. No change it seemed at the terminals. . .or I wasn't using my oldie but g...
Re: Today
Try to imagine the problems involved if that kid had knocked the bike over. Oh yes. . .the situation was a "cloud" for sure. And the parent should have had the child under control or instructed them appropriately. We all too often see parents who just don't make good judgement and unfortu...
Re: Today
I thought of the safety pins one day when I went into a store and came back out to find some kid messing with the switches on my bike while his mother was in la-la land. Luckily I was only in the store for 5 or 6 minutes, but who lets their kid mess with someone's bike when the owner isn't present?...

Re: Knocking and rattling inside the variator and clutch hou
Backfires are usually caused by an air leak or exhaust valve hanging open too long. Seems to be above my skill level as well. You tightened the flange bolts and gasket enough on the new exhaust right? Is it one of those kind of exhausts that has an inner and outer pipe? Sometimes welds break on exha...

Re: 2019 PCX 150 performance
Are you sure you aren't getting confused with the statistics?
If you go 60 MPH you are going 96.5 KPH.
Anyhow if you need to go faster then maybe consider the CBR300R. . .you can get a seat bag for it.

Re: Lights Went Dim on KLR 650
Got the new "aftermarket" stator today. ... :D Hope it's going to be OK. Time will tell. The company got good reviews so I'm counting on the reviewers opinions. :| That said my machine is 31 years old. . .was an '88 model built in '87. The older they get the more challenging to get parts b...

Ah ha. . .the old "Kill Switch" will do the deed every time. At least you weren't left stranded in the middle of a 4-lane intersection. That would cause PTSD for sure. . .. We've all done stupid things. . .WN - welcome to the club! :D Have you ever tried the motorcycle clutch lever on-the-...

Re: Bike Lift for ease of maintenance
I've got a 1500 lb. lift that I've used for years on my motorcycles. . .not yet though for the PCX. Those lower body panels would have to be removed of course. That said I've had to be very careful with it. It is a balancing act. It has been a money saver though allowing me to do some work on my own...

Painful news. . .hope you heal quickly.
I was especially glad to read you had your helmet on. I see so many riders in my area who still don't choose to wear one.

Re: Joe rocket survivor one piece suit
The Hi Viz version looks nice and they do have the larger sizes but I really wish it had the hip armor IMHO. :geek: Been thinking about an armor suit lately. My old leather jacket looks good but doesn't offer the protection the new high tech stuff does. That said good luck with your new riding gear....
