Re: shuddering clutch on 2016 pcx 150?

I can attest to the "Quick accleration" method of clearing up the clutch shudder. There's a whole other thread about this and the conclusion is either changing the clutch material, or just do quick acclerations so it scrubs off some material. I realized this clutch shudder only happens whe...

Re: Just need to say I'm blown away that people doubt and refuse to believe the 21 can hit 85mph

Y'all are missing the big picture here. The troll never said it was on the road. Tethered to the 21, and dropped from a height of 5000 feet, it'll hit 85mph EASY all day EVERYDAY!

Re: PCX - restricting top speed

I would not want to limit my bike to 35 miles an hour because there are times where you might want to use the power to get out of a dangerous situation. Rather, I would mount my iOS/android phone to the handlebars, download a GPS speedometer program that’s free, and set a limit of 30 mph that would...

Re: PCX won't start

Good that it's solved. Replacement of the start/alternator here would cost a lot (doubt a dealer would offer to replace a small part of it). Any tips on how I can look after this part? I've been using the start/stop function sometimes on lights longer than 20 seconds(there's countdown timers here) ...

Re: PCX won't start

So my PCX was finally fixed. It was a problem with the stator. Got a OEM part in and started right up. The tech was pointing to the surface of the stator but I don't understand enough of the local language to know what he was referring to. Still not sure how with Honda's reliability a less than 3 ye...

Re: PCX won't start

So an update... Took it to the shop and they've tested the battery which is good, the starter relay which is good, and also tried a new starter motor which also didn't start the bike. So now my PCX looks like this. https://imgur.com/a/CdkSSPM So that's great... Don't really trust the local shop to p...

That's what I'm afraid of. I'm gonna just figure out a way to get it to the shops as it's still in warranty... So much for Honda reliability I guess.

Thank you for the help.

Re: PCX won't start

I just wonder if it’s a defective battery in some way. A 12 V battery maxes out at 100% charge at 12.6 so 12.8 is a little bit hi and may be an indicator of something wrong. I tried hooking up the new battery to my other carburetor scooter and that one cranked right away. But the same battery on th...

Re: PCX won't start

Hmmm….l know if the side stand switch itself is bad, you can check it by connecting its 2 wires together. If the scoot starts…then the switch is the problem…helped me out on another bike. I don't think it's the side stand cause when I have it down there's no click from the relay after I press the s...

Re: PCX won't start

Op3l…Just a thought…have you checked to see if the ‘kill switch’ on the right handlebar is in “run” or “off”? My version doesn't have a kill switch. I've made sure side stand is up and I'm grabbing both brake levers hard while hitting the start switch, and all I hear is a click from the relay in th...

Re: PCX won't start

Some new information.

So the click seems to be coming from the fuse box, one of the relays. I hooked up a multimeter to the battery when I press the starter button and there's no noticeable drop in voltage. Only .1 from the brake lights coming on.

Battery still showing 12.8v when sitting there.

PCX won't start

New problem with my PCX. It won't start. I've just gotten a new battery and a multimeter reads it at 12.87 volts, i installed it into the bike, and still will not start. When i turn the key to the "on" position, the fuel pump works but when I press the starter button, all i hear is a "...

Re: Whine when throttle open about 1/8

Don't know how to edit post on mobile so replying to own.

The problem didn't start right away after filter was replaced. It started just today after about 2 months of riding.

It sounds a bit like super charger whine except at higher engine speeds and more open throttle the sound disappears.

Whine when throttle open about 1/8

My 2018 pcx recently developed a whine that's pretty easy to hear when throttle is open about 1/8 to about 1/6. The whine persists even when speeds go higher but throttle position don't change while it accelerates. If I let go of throttle, the whine slowly disappears while speed slows down The only ...

Re: Dual sport tire option?

You can probably check out the tires that comes on the ADV 150. The island tread designed tires are suppose to handle better on unpaved roads. City grips should be ok as well. It has deep treads that can cut through some of the mud. My current Angel City Scooter tires aren't too good in mud. Very sl...

Re: Do I need to top off brake fluid?

Usually it's not the fluid leaking but indication the front pads are nearly worn - best check them. My fluid indication went low and I found it was basically metal on metal with no friont pads left! When new ones are fitted (you can do it yourself), you need to not press and brake levers, push the ...

Re: (New Brake Levers) Parking Brake Won't Engage

I did a bit of search and came across https://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=5129 which is a few years old but could help you out. My PCX does not have a parking brake, and I've parked it on some pretty steep inclines with just the side stand and it's fine. If it's real steep I'll use the cen...

Re: Tire recommendation?

Checked the front tyre again today (newly fitted about 1-2 months ago) and it had lost a fair bit again - down from 33 to 25. Filled it up - not sure why some people do not seem to lose much and my front always seems to lose several psi every few weeks. Yep, same issue here. My rear seems to hold a...

Re: Do I need to top off brake fluid?

Ah, got ya. I've been getting a slightly grinding sensation when I brake hard but I attributed it to sand as i've been riding it off road to get to where I need to in a construction place.

I'll go get it checked at the shop.

Do I need to top off brake fluid?

Hello again My brake master cynlinder resevoir has this LWP marking with a line and a circle window. I noticed today the fluid inside is only about at the LWP line, and going down inclines the fluid would disappear completely. I checked with a local honda tech service place, and the guy looked at it...
