I always wear a textile bike jacket and trousers.
If its looking like rain, I will wear lightweight waterproof trousers and jacket over the top of the textiles. Water not got through both layers in 2 years of commuting. In fact the thin outer layer is all thats really needed.

Re: changing fork seals
Well I have been using the PCX for a couple of weeks now and done 200 miles.
Checked the fork seals yesterday and there is no leaking following use of the seal mate. So it seems the claims made are valid. Will report back again in a month or so to see if it's a longer term fix.

Re: Brake fluid change question
Is the bubble in the little window in the brake fluid reservoir? If so, that's not a problem.
Brake fluid should be cleaned off with brake cleaner. Water won't be effective. Probably best not to ride it until you have cleaned the fluid off as the brake will be poor and you will contaminate the pads.

Re: How to: brake fluid replacement
As well as the main front system, I also changed the fluid in the combined master cylinder, but I also squeeze the lever to force the fluid through. For anyone doing it, it's exactly the same process for the combined system, but the plastic cowl needs to come off to top the reservoir up. Oh, and obv...

I can't get my right fork leg apart to change the seal as the bolt at the bottom has rounded. Which fork leg leaks and how much would you want for them bud?

Re: UK PCX insurance - any good insurers out there
Current insurer (Bennetts) want £160 for my PCX fully comprehensive (which is due next week). Hastings Direct coming out at £97. That's from the meerkat site - Hastings are £107 if I go direct to their website.

Re: Does my rear brake need rebuilding?
And the answer is YES! According to the Honda service manual, there's a small master cylinder, which Honda calls the CBS (combined braking system) master cylinder, hidden up in the front panel next to the ignition and seat/gas cap switches. I still haven't figured out how this one is actuated, but ...

A 2014 bike may still be under warranty.
Does sound as if your final drive bearing may bearing may be on the way to bearing heaven.

Good luck with the corse Alibally.
I'm sure you won't regret taking the test. Did mine back when the examiner used to walk around the block watching you. Could ride like an idiot around 3 corners then sensibly last the examiner!

Re: Center stand FAIL
I purchased my PCX with the centre stand broken. Engine mounts have broken in the same way but on the other side. Any chance Honda will repair it out of warranty? I bought mine with the same problem before I knew about the design fault. I think the majority of early PCX's will have this issue...

Re: Left Brake loosey goosey
The brake shoes wear down and the cables stretch slightly. Both these cause the brake to require a little adjustment. There is an adjuster near the back wheel and also one behind the headlight .

Other end of the strap attaches to a similar clip at the top of the battery box. Just a hook moulded into the battery box.

If it's at the back of the underseat compartment, that's the inspection hatch for the coolant. Mine certainly doesn't have a light under the seat.

Battery cover is just held in by a clip from memory. 30 second job and that includes lifting the seat! ☺
