Re: National Cycle windscreen install and review

THAT'S the trade-off. I'm 5-8 and have the TALL version of that National on mine. It's just a little short (about mouth-height), but effective at calming the atmosphere behind it. I gave up 4-5 top-end mph for that. I don't ride the E-way so It's a good trade for me. You'll get your mph's back with ...

Re: How to disable left lever start function?

Those "kill" features are generally termed "lawyer parts". While they may be good ideas, they are also subject to malfing and are generally annoying to riders of a bit more than half a brain. I leave them alone, myself, unless they cause trouble, then I bypass them or otherwise d...

Re: PCX Mileage and driving style

I ride my '13 like I stole it and it's been returning just under 96 (u.s.) mpg. Lots of WOT. Between 50 nd 60 mph on most of my route.

Re: Help!! Stalling Issues PCX150

One of the die-out threads we had on here some time ago found valve adjustment as the culprit. I'm assuming there's no MIL illuminated on the dash? How many miles on the bike and does the motor keep running once it reaches normal operating temperature? The symptoms of the valve lash trouble were tha...

Re: oil level on stick

1.5 qts. is more than enough to change the oil in the motor AND the rear end. I think the figure is .8 qts. for the motor without opening the screen.

Re: Mirrors hitting windshield

On mine, I loosened the mirror stalks at their bases and turned the bars all the way to each side, just rotating the mirror stalks just off the screen and re-tightening. You may also get more adjustable clearance by loosening the hand grip mounts and/or rotating the bars, themselves slightly aft. I ...

Re: PCX air scoop ???

It's a good aero-trick for relieving low pressure behind the screen(and load). If you put your hand out slightly above the top of a tall screen(at speed) you can really feel the up-flow of air from immediately behind the screen. I like NOT having that big, upward swirl as on old-style unrelieved win...

Whichever EG-based coolant you choose, make sure it's silicate-free and you're good to go.

Re: Tall Windshield National Cycle ??

Here's a couple of a 5'8" me on my '13 with the National "tallest". I usually size them to nose height when possible so I'm looking just over the top when sitting normally on the saddle. Close enough for comfort on the little bike. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v179/HarryPorsche/s...

I stand corrected. there IS a company recommending it. I still don't use or recommend it, however.
BTW: stay away from Champion plugs.

Re: Removing/Changing spark plug on a PCX 150

I wouldn't put anything on the threads Why? It's pretty standard procedure with aluminum engine blocks where the metal of the block is different than the metal of the plug. It makes removing the plug later much easier and without ruining the threads in the engine block. Anti-sieze usually requires ...

Re: Enimga 352 RTF Fuel Controller

Okay, until you figure out what you're trying to achieve, my advice is to leave the bike stock. As to the fuelling, 14.7 is slightly lean of stoich for regular fuel. Honda has these systems calibrated quite well for as good balance of performance, efficiency, and durability. If more power is what yo...

Re: National Cycle extra-tall windshield for 2015 PCX

Yeah, if I tucked wit the stock shield I would hit exactly 70. With the NC shield it does 65. The 15's speed limiter is set lower than the '13 so your about right on. If your limiter let you do 70 the shield would likely drop you to about 65. Fast enough for me as I don't take it on the highway. I w...

Re: National Cycle extra-tall windshield for 2015 PCX

I have that tall version on my 13. It's pretty nice. No worse in x-winds but I did lose about five MPH top speed. I ran an a-b-a test on it and it's definitely the shield slowing it down. I don't notice it accelerating to speed any faster. I'm 5'8" and it's just about right for me at mouth heig...

Re: Enimga 352 RTF Fuel Controller

So, you bought a controller to do what, exactly? Does the bikes controller not work? Do you have any understanding of how a motor works with it's calibration/controller? The English translation on the site about the device leaves a lot to be desired. Gibberish, really. As far as I can tell, it's a s...

Re: Valve adjustment.. How necessary ??

Theres a thread around here about someone's bike stalling at lights until it was warmed up. Turned out be valves too tight. Definitely worth checking a couple times to at least see if theres a trend. Valves and seats wear. Some more than others. After only 500 miles ??wow Todays hardened valve seat...
