Re: A 6-pack of wine fits perfectly under the seat
At Trader Joe's or Whole Foods, they sell these re-usable bags for 6 bottles of wine. I took one to TJ's the other day to re-supply. It's a PERFECT fit! Buy wine boxes and take the soft plastic reservoirs out of the cardboard. Good idea, except that decent wine isn't sold in boxes. Not being snobbi...

Re: Hello! ***NEW MEMBER***
Congrats. Mine is almost identical, (red 2013) except mine had enough miles to be broken in. I wonder just how the heck the original owner could have it for 4 years and only put 500 miles on it. I put 500 miles on mine in two weeks. It's a great scooter; fits nicely between the not-quite-capable-eno...

Re: PCX will not start - Growl!
One switch that was not mentioned, but which is very important is the starter button switch. That is one that makes and breaks current in normal use, as opposed to the others, which would only occasionally break current. That is a common failure point on bikes; it's the first one I would replace. Ne...

Re: I found a washer in my oil drain pan
Order a baggie of the crush washers. It's not necessary to change it every time, unless you tighten the drain bolt like a gorilla. I reused the one on my '98 Civic for about 150,000 miles worth of oil changes until it started to leak, because it had been crushed to the point that it was starting to ...

Arai Vector 2 helmet
I just got this yesterday. ( https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/arai-vector-2-hi-viz-neon-helmet ) This will be an ongoing review thread. For now, it's just first impressions; I haven't even ridden in it yet. I'm in an HJC CL-15 now, size L. Shoei Large fits me too. (I had an RF-800, 10 years ago) ...

Re: Slaughterhouse 23 scooter rally, Chicago, Aug 31- Sep 3
I don't think I'm going to go. Thinking back to when I went there years ago, I didn't really feel welcome, as a rider of a modern scooter. It was a bit too hipster for me then, and will be more so now that I'm over 40. There are hundreds and hundreds of vintage two-stroke Vespas and Lambrettas.

Yep, that particular fabric looks feminine to me.

Re: Anyone have experience with HJC Symax III Helmet?
I was looking at that one in hi-viz. I read the user reviews on revzilla and amazon, and it seems they start to fall apart a little too soon? I looked at Nolans too, but they have their complaints too, which they shouldn't for over $400. I wound up forgoing the modular feature I wanted and went with...

Re: New Member/Rider in Santa Cruz, CA
Welcome Ed. I wish I lived out in Santa Cruz. You can ride and commute all year out there. Many of us have to hang up our helmets after November. Nice looking scooter you've got there. Have you had it up in the twisties in Malibu yet? Highly recommended. I haven't had a scooter up there yet, but I f...

Re: Seen this before?
Really great idea, but I'm going to have to wait until the patents run out and the Japanese get ahold of it: £615 = $807. That's 1/3 the cost of my PCX.
Cool feature set.

Re: Kennesaw, Georgia FYI
I guess that's what you southerners do, since you don't have snowmobiles? Just teasing. I'm starting to see them up here. I can't really see the point in them. They're wide enough that one might as well just have a car. Can't avoid anything that shows up suddenly in your lane: on one hand, you...

Re: Melting Plastic smell....
Is your PCX new? If so, don't worry about it at all until you've put a couple hundred miles on it. Your muffler guard shouldn't melt. The paint is a type that is made to resist heat, but the smell may change here or there. Check inside the fenders too. The idea of looking for a shopping bag that got...

Re: Quick brake question
If you don't trust your own eyes, have a mechanic look at them. Whoa, let's not get carried away here! When I did car disc brakes last time, the previous mechanic had not applied anti-squeal compound to the back of the pads, which my brother (former mechanic) said is absolutely required, if you don...

Thanks for the tips, fellers.
I was not pulling them both at the same time, which the service manual instructions seem to suggest.

You didn't happen to take any pictures during the process, did you? ...or are you saying that homie's vid. was adequate on its own? ;) Sometimes, I feel like I need to find videos that are not done so tidily. Re: 12V SOCKET
Just a thought - will the PCX alternator be able to keep up? Should do, it's attached to the bike. That's not necessarily true. If the heated jacket draws more current than the alternator can supply, you'll be draining the battery just to run the vest. Also, are you guys using those full-size autom...

Re: Which tyres
I have Michelin CityGrips, on the recommendation of other PCX owners. They're great and seem softer than the stock Dunlops, but I never had problems with the Dunlops either, even though they were old. I did notice that the CityGrips seem to have a better ride. Maybe on account of being radials inste...

Dumb question: How does the brake lock work?
I didn't see anything about it in the manual. I have a knob in the left side of the fairing that says brake lock. If I squeeze the rear brake and pull that, it comes out and clicks, but when I release the brake, the bike starts to roll. So it's obviously not locked. If I pull that, then squeeze the ...
