Re: Another 2014 - 2015 Forza Recall in US

I Just received the latest recall notice as well. This one is more ominous sounding. It explains that a new component (it specifically says it is NOT the resin bracket of the first recall) has been proven to fail on bikes with specific VINs. it also implies that your warranty may be invalidated unle...

Re: Extra part? Or is something not installed correctly?

It covers one of the bolts that secure the seat to the front hinge.
Lift the seat and look at front underside edge and you should see the hole it goes in...maybe even two?

Re: Rollers only

I finally got a chance to test the slider/roller mix against a stock Forza while riding in the mountains last week. He had about 1500 more miles on his engine. Under all the conditions we tried, I could easily pull away from him, whether from a dead stop, a mid speed roll-on and especially going uph...

Forza 300 rear brake/rotor wear issue.

Several owners have posted on excessive wear to rear pads and rotors. I have always suspected the false swingarm might be a contributing factor to this. Over the last 10 years I've put nearly 80,000 miles on my other Honda scooters and I've mounted every tire used during that time. Along the way I s...

Re: Check engine light blinking

GolDen: I believe your mechanic might still be a little off the mark? he thinks your battery is low and that a failed bank angle sensor would prevent the bike from starting, but the diagnostic flow chart says otherwise..... it says the bike will still run normally even if this sensor gets out of spe...

also know as a "lean angle sensor".....
it shuts the engine off when the bike falls over.

Re: Three recalls done at mile zero

I have two.....one is on a Ural Patrol 650 2WD sidecar and one on a Honda Big Ruckus 250.

I've always thought the bike, more than the rider, earned the award, so until the Forza has actually made a 1000 mile run in less than 24 hours, mine won't get to wear one. :)

Re: 2013 Forza 300 starting problem

It's not a defective brake switch.....it's all in YOUR grip! :)

The Forza (like most Hondas?) doesn't respond well to the limp wristed approach to braking....

Re: Switch for Tank/Seat not working

The tank access flap, left glove box and seat releases are mechanical (cable) in nature but they are locked/unlocked by the ignition switch. The interlock on the key switch is also mechanical and simply blocks movement of the mechanical latches when the key is off.

Re: Clutch Pulley disassembly...?

There is an alternative disassembly method that doesn't require a compressor but it requires TWO sets of hands (actually, only 3 hands, now that I think of it!) Once you've removed the bell and clutch assembly from the bike, mark the position of the large nut (23mm?) relative to the face. Invert the...

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT

Thanks for posting your results. I also think 19G sliders will give the best all around results when using all 6 sliders. I know several Big Ruck riders running 6 x 19G sliders and they are happy. With the right sized rollers you can go a few grams lighter. But I think the mixed weights will still e...

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT

If you mean the 21G rollers that came with the Forza, they are different from Honda's earlier 23x18 rollers for the Reflex... they are slightly smaller in diameter by maybe .2mm? I'm not even sure the cores will come out of the Forza rollers....I don't think they're sourced from the same supplier. A...

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT

Nothing like that but this weekend I made a key discovery.... Remember I said that 23x18 sliders made by DR Pulley used the same size core weights as 23x18 Honda OEM rollers? They are interchangeable. Well, I disassembled a 24x18 slider and it uses the SAME size core weight as the 23x18 slider/rolle...

I'll add that you should be sure the plastic panels are warmed up to at least 65F (for a few hours if possible)..

Re: Forza 300 Shocking Goodies

Excellent documentation Mario! The Forza's front suspension has always seemed as though it was designed for "perfect" roads instead of REAL roads and the worse jolts always involve the front end. I'm interested in seeing how the tunable fork valve works.... you do the the R&D and tell ...

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT

one thing to keep in mind, Robert... SH300i Final reduction 8.571 NSS300 Final reduction 7.537 and they have different sized wheels. so all other things being equal (tire diameters, variator config, belt condition, exhaust mods and rider), the SH300i should STILL outrun the Forza in a 0-60 run or a ...

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT

Good information and it reflects my own experience with the J.Costa. even if you keep a close eye on the pins and change them out frequently, if you run the Costa at top end (75+ mph) for hours at a stretch, somewhere around 9000-12000 miles the central bronze bushing is worn down to the point you c...

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT

Robert that's the big problem with comparing tuning efforts from different sized scoots with different HP ratings and different variators using different weights.... the Burgman makes a lot more HP and it uses 8 26 x13 rollers that in stock form are probably pretty close to the 17G weight used in th...

Re: Fork Stabilizer

I think that's the deciding factor here.....speed! If you've ever ridden your Forza in a full tuck at 85mph (or faster) and leaned on the handlebars for a fast lane change, you've probably had to oversteer and then correct because of the springy front end Mario mentioned. You don't notice it at lowe...
