These will be fine if you're wanting to ram other scooters off the road. For crash protection though I think you'd need them to run higher up towards the handle bars like fish said. I think in general that old adage "there's no replacement for displacement" is true. Yea it might have higher horsepower but it might come at a high RPM at the cost of good usable torque. I've no doubt they did it for higher fuel economy figures and probably emissions as well. Still though...

I've been interested in these tires since I saw them. The tread pattern really appeals to me and the seems to have very good wet grip as well.
