Re: Tall windscreens

I'll keep that option in mind, Steph. I might keep the tall windscreen on through the cold months for cold protection, and return to the stock windscreen for the summer. I'm still at the early stages of living with the tall windscreen. Right now I'd say it's a wash. Sometimes better at high speeds, ...

Re: Inexpensive top box recommendations?

Thanks, Whitenoise! Quite a range here. I appreciate your thorough research. I looked at the tutorial on installing a trunk and it looks a little over my head (major drilling and reaming of plastic to expose the mounts on the frame). I think I'll try this seat bag and see how it works http://www.ama...

Re: Tall windscreens

About 400 miles. I'm riding at about 6000 feet and maybe that impacts the top speed. I tried a Yamaha Majesty 400 before buying the pcx, and that certainly is more of a cruiser. I like the light weight and agility of the pcx. I'm in the learning curve on it, seeing what it can handle or not. Fortuna...

Inexpensive top box recommendations?

Any inexpensive top boxes you might recommend? Needn't be the biggest or the best. I'll use it mostly for a laptop and groceries. I can get some of this under the seat of course, but I find it awkward to access and to pack things in there. I got a little spoiled with my Yamaha c3, which has great st...

First ride with tall windscreen

After and easy installation (thanks, maddiedog) I took my first ride with the tall windscreen from Givi. The scoot was much less stable around 50 than I thought it would be, at least initially. Might the large windscreen act like a sail and make the scooter more susceptible to crosswinds? Later in t...

Re: How-To: Install a windshield

Very helpful, especially re where to pry up the fairing. Hardest part for me was getting the fairing back on, and never got the left connector to seat solidly and click. Thanks.

Re: ATGATT or Squidding: What do YOU ride with?

Dear Mel, I'm sorry for your wife's challenges and suffering. They sound like they could be overwhelming. You've alluded to some of those yourself. I find it inspiring that you and she ride and are enjoying your scooters. Warm wishes to you both! John I did want to mention that I do wear boots and j...

Re: Just got a New 2013 Honda PCX 150 in Red

I'd say the price is in the ballpark. They were being sold for a couple hundred less out the door in Arizona, but that could be inconvenient to go to. I got a used one with just one mile on it but no warranty so bought an extended warranty with the savings. Thanks for the info on the Rage 600. Just ...

Re: Just got a New 2013 Honda PCX 150 in Red

Congratulations. I just got the same scooter. How is the Rage 600 working for you? Any quirks? I just reached the 587 miles (in three weeks) and need to change the oil and clean the screen. I read the forum topic on the oil change and it seems pretty straightforward. Picked up the oil and crush wash...

Re: Knight Riderz LED brake lights

No flex in the one I bought but haven't yet mounted. Thinking about getting one of these to mount in a top box. The top box has a clear red lens running across the back and up the sides. I can fit the standard KR brake light flat on the box. The longer version will fit lengthwise but the mounting su...

Re: ATGATT or Squidding: What do YOU ride with?

All the time:
Modular helmet, flipped down
Armored jacket, mesh in summer, leather plus cordura in cooler weather
Leather gloves with moderate knuckle protection
Denim pants with knee armor
Leather boots, mid calf

I feel that the pants and gloves could be sturdier.

Re: Tall windscreens

Fabulous. Sounds like the tall Givi is for me. I have a PCX150 and put the tall Givi on it. I am 6' even and the wind blows a couple inches over my head so it should be ok for you. I also have a flip up face shield on my helmet. The air is so still behind the wind screen I removed the flip up and th...

Tall windscreens

Hi all,

I'm about to buy a tall windscreen for my 2013 pcx 150. On the board I've seen reference to the Givi 323, Ermax +25, Puig and a Givi knockoff.

I'm 6'2" and wear a full face helmet.

What do you recommend?

Thanks! John

Re: 300 mile report

Warranty issue maybe? Hadn't noticed that noise, Iceman. What's it like? Wish my PCX purred - even with a close fitting helmet I dread hearing the noise it makes taking off or going 30-40mph. I've not idea how the belt/clutch can be very quite on most and noisy on others. Hard to describe. Idling is...

Re: 300 mile report

Mel46, has the windshield and the seat mod made a big difference for you? What have been the main benefits? Thanks. I actually saw one of those BMW scooters riding around town. It looks nice. However, I read some reviews on it and came to the conclusion that the maintenance on it is expensive, like ...

Ah! Thanks for the heads up! (Or bottoms up, since we are discussing seating ;) ) That BMW scooter looks sweet. Maybe I'll test drive one next time I'm near a dealer. WARNING! I assumed you had a 2015 model without the back rest (hump). I see by your avatar that you have a different seat so please d...
