Re: Valve adjustment.. How necessary ??
Theres a thread around here about someone's bike stalling at lights until it was warmed up. Turned out be valves too tight. Definitely worth checking a couple times to at least see if theres a trend. Valves and seats wear. Some more than others.

Re: Seat won't latch
You mentioned "slammed". It's not to be slammed down. It's pressed down using the heel of the hand as you use the rear handle to pull against with your other hand. The thing is sort of "mashed" down over the latch. Honda wants the seat to be a very firmly clamped part of the body...

Re: PCX Police Bike
Neat! Does Honda sell an upgraded electrical package to support all the extra load? Lots of lights and a police radio must load it down pretty good. Aux. Battery?

Re: Missing stock windscreen/aftermarket tall windscreen?
If the stock windscreen is missing or not there, you won't have to remove it to install any windscreen. Is there a windscreen on the bike, now?

Dig around. There might be a place in your area that can straighten it. In my area there are a couple places that straighten alloy wheels if they aren't too far gone.

Re: Possible overheating
For the PCX (which may also apply to yours) The Honda book says to run it on the center stand with the radiator cap open while warming up. As it gets to hot they say to blip or rev the throttle a few times. That will push the coolant through the system quicker, taking the air to the open radiator wh...

Re: Tall Windshield National Cycle ??
Just that the bike gave up about five mph top-end. It's nice and calm behind the shield, great for big bugs and especially rocks and the occasional light rain. There's not much substance to these bikes so they aren't good in strong crosswinds, anyway. The shield doesn't seem to exacerbate that. I st...

Re: Tall Windshield National Cycle ??
I'm 5'8" and I run the tallest National. It comes up about mouth-height. Ideally I prefer to have it at nose-height. It's adequate at mouth height for most of the wind to about 55mph on me.

Re: K&N Air filter Installation and Performance Analysis
I helped out on a big air cleaner study some years back. It was for a small diesel, but still had some interesting findings. One was that the OE filter flowed better and cleaned better than K&N. They sacrifice fine filtering for flow as it turns out.

Yeah, VERY long odds, yet it WILL be won. While your chances are slim, they are even slimmer without a ticket.

Re: 45 mph...or hurricane ?
Yes a windscreen will help, especially if it comes up to nose height(so you're looking just over it). That will push most of the blast to the top of your head. Please consider wearing a helmet. I don't take my PCX on the freeway. IMO it's too light. My old 500LB. Beemer was a bit light around the bi...

Re: GLP variator thumbs up or down
What does it do better than the stock O E set-up? Is there a problem with the O E parts? I'm curious what the point of all these variator options are given Honda's excellent set-up, tuned to balance all the things their system is? What's the trade-off? More performance with less durability or vice v...

Re: Windshield dynamics
You can try an A-B-A test as I did. At my height(5'8") the speed loss is the all the windshield, as tested. Even the "cleanest" bikes are still "dirty" aero-wise. I've always liked the comfort(and shielding from stones) of a fairing and the 5 mph price is acceptable. I don't...

Re: Windshield dynamics
I have the tallest National Cycle that comes up about mouth-height on me (173CM). It keeps the wind to the top of my helmet. It doesn't behave as a sail but, I did give up about 5 mph of top speed.

Re: how many mm for the mirrors screws?
The thread on the mirrors is left hand(lord knows why). They use a "gender-changer" adapter to thread it to the handgrip casting, which is right-hand thread. I put different mirrors on that are right-hand thread and left the adapters off, threading them directly into the handgrip castings....

Re: Service /repair manual PCX 150
I went on flea-Bay and got 2013-15 manual (with the bonus color-fold-out wiring diagram) from a guy with the handle "repairmanual". It was $55 US and worth every penny, so far.
