Kymco downtown 300i

Just had a little test ride on kymco downtown 300i today. Was for sale at my local used bike shop for £2700. 2015 with 10000 miles. Not ready yet to part with my pcx but test ride didn't cost anything so why not? I have a bit of dual carriageway with 70 mph speed limit on my commute and although my ...

Re: Do you hit the corners hard? Go around turns fast?

I worry about myself sometimes because I really like to hit the corners hard. I will come up to them fast, and then break, and then gun it again 1/2 to 3/4 through the turn. I have only had my Honda PCX about 2 weeks, and I think I should be more cautious. But I can't resist the fun. My only other ...

Re: Dead battery

Today's morning my battery died on pcx. As I have my car in the garage for MOT I have to buy new battery from the shop not from eBay or some place on interweb. Was quoted £80 for yuasa but bought li ion instead for £69. Weights 0.6 kg instead of 2.1kg like stock one. That's gonna be boost in perfor...

Dead battery

Today's morning my battery died on pcx. As I have my car in the garage for MOT I have had to buy new battery from the shop not from eBay or some place on interweb to get bike ready for tomorrow. Was quoted eye watering £80 for yuasa but bought li ion instead for £69. Weights 0.6 kg instead of 2.1kg ...

Re: I damaged my PCX

Thanks for the strap wrench tip. Interesting though I've watched about 10 variator install vids on YouTube and all of them use an impact wrench with no problem. I use impact gun no problems. Just undo both variator and clutch and press on torque spring move pulleys apart and wedge the belt as far a...

Re: Malossi 170cc kit for 125

Thanks for the reply and also your comments on my 150cc topic - i didn't realise the 31mm throttle body was only for 164 kits so that saved me making a mistake by going down that route. I have been considering all the options over the last week and think i will go the full 164 kit with 150 head. As...

Re: Malossi 170cc kit for 125

I'll be putting in the 150 esp head and piston soon and will be able to see if there is any wear and tear on 164 kit after 4000 miles.
Might keep the piston rings and swap them on to domed piston to save time on braking in.

Re: Yuminashi esp 150 head conversion

He he that's exactly what he said. When I asked about refund for missing parts I have ordered from Honda dealer he said it seems "completely fair" and "let me ask my boss". I have put 44t final sprocket without changing anything else. It is same diameter as 47t sprocket so no nee...

Re: Yuminashi esp 150 head conversion

Just a heads up, you'll need new exhaust header too. Better find a welding shop soon. If you have a pcx v1 the stock exhaust header will not fit the new esp style cylinder head. Regarding Yuminashi, maybe I am very lucky or so, I bought a lot of stuff from them (enough for me to get a 130 bucks dis...

I have takegawa silent exhaust I have ordered by mistake for esp engine from Japanese website with second hand parts.

Re: Yuminashi esp 150 head conversion

I have ordered missing parts from local Honda dealer for £35 and contacted yuminashi for refund. They kindly offered to send missing parts but it wasn't what I wanted as have to wait 6 weeks for delivery of the kit. So it would probably be another 6 weeks to get missing parts if they don't make anot...

Re: Injector Choice for 150 Upgrade

Thanks. I think i was actually watching your 164 video on youtube last night - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1947PTV0dc Presumably that the 164 with cam kit? Have you had any issue with overheating or is that why you've bought the 150 head (albeit with missing parts) on the other thread? Yeah th...

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT

Maybe that is why Ed recommends carbon fiber rollers to be mixed with sliders? lolofigo: What were the weights of those rollers and sliders? Those are from my pcx and yuminashi variator 13g sliders and 10g rollers. I didn't seem a bad idea at the time but was really surprised when taking variator a...

Re: Yuminashi esp 150 head conversion

From what I have read over the years it seems that Yuminashi is a hit or miss organization. Sometmes everything comes in and works great. On other occasions it seems that they miss half of the order, and it takes forever to straighten out missing parts. I wish you well. They are not known for their...

Re: Injector Choice for 150 Upgrade

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately there is no 150 kit, only the individual parts which is why i'm asking. I would buy the 164 STD kit but @ £400 I don't think I can get the ok from my other half due to cost :( Its funny you can't recommend as yuminashi as that's another reason I don't want to buy...

Sorry, missread your post. Different shapes are the issue not weight.

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT

So I just installed the 17gr and 19gr slider mix, and my initial impression is that it is alot more responsive. I also did a timed 0-60 run ( same run twice before and after) and it appears to have shaved off about 1.7 seconds off the 0-60. The engine now revs more freely up to 6500 rpm, and the ac...

Re: Injector Choice for 150 Upgrade

Hi, After some debating i am going purchase the Yuminashi 150 light bore up kit for my 125. Why? I have watched several videos on youtube of 150 vs 175 and while bigger is faster, 164/175 doesn't look to be that much faster for the extra cost outlay. Well, not for my purposes..i'd be happy with 150...

Yuminashi esp 150 head conversion

After long wait just received parts from yuminashi. Unfortunately my excitement was quickly gone as there are parts missing. To make things worse some genius put two addresses on the parcel: my new one and invoice with my old details on the other side of the parcel in plastic sleeve clearly visible ...

Anyway it comes with a fuel injection controller as w...
