Re: Rear Brake surge

Hmm, given that he didn't clean and lube the pivots,I would be a bit suspicious about his care in the correct torque setting being used when the wheel went back. Hopefully it's just the shoes grabbing, when the shoes are off just make sure the brake lever moves freely,I would remove the adjusting nu...

Re: Rear Brake surge

Its rhythmic. Opened it up and nothing looks abnormal in the wheel drum. Going to clean it out because he didn't, use some brake on the moving parts, put her back and see what happens.

Rear Brake surge

After my mechanic changed my tires and shocks, (and told me the rear brake pads would last forever on this thing), The rear brake feels like its grabs then lets go then grabs and lets go like an out of round drum on an old truck that need to be machined down. I took it back and he put new pads in it...

Re: Roller weights an peak power and torque

So I took a ride today to see how things were shaking out with all the new stuff. Headed North with the coming out of the South/South West at 11mph, gusting to 20mph. To speed was 75mph at 8800rpms. WOT couldn't hit the limiter. That's with a tailwind on a decline. Headed Straight West into the quar...

Re: Roller weights an peak power and torque

How about top end speed? Any increase even if minimum? I was out the other day and hit 73 without hitting the limiter going downhill. I'm sure I've got a little more rolling resistance, but fuel mileage is still good, so can't be that much. I was paying attention to the RPM's, but of course forgot ...

Re: Roller weights an peak power and torque

Easiest, and often the cheapest, way to get more power and speed is to buy a bigger scooter. Works every time! Fish This thread is about maximizing the rpm's to get the most out of the motor as is the way I ride the scooter, utilizing the power that it has to fullest. There's other threads to troll...

Re: Roller weights an peak power and torque

I was running 12.gram rollers that I drilled out and they were great but found a couple were deformed and worn so not sure how long they were bad, and what the detriments were. They were originally putting my WOT acceleration at 7800rpms. I’ll play around a little then update.

Re: Roller weights an peak power and torque

I hit 76mph going down a grade on the way back to the shop to see what happened to the rear brake when the new tyres and shock were installed. When I get it back I’ll be able to put some more miles on. I didn’t hit the rev limiter. If the R’s keep hitting 8.5k when I roll it on hard I will switch al...

How do you know you are running lean? And what Tuning can you do with just a AM filter and exhaust?

Re: Rear Wheel noise

Thanks Homie! Just like bad/dry Bottom Bracket bearing in a bicycle. Mine are still quiet, and I put some some marine grade bearing grease in there when I changed the belt as it looked pretty dry in there. Hopefully that'll fend off any issues for awhile.

Dredging up an old thread, At what mileage did all you discover this issue? Also the videos are dead so can't hear what it is to listen for. I'm at 7k miles now.

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?

I just changed my belt and rollers at 7k miles. NCY variatod face and faceplate had zero wear which was surprizing to me, and great. Was surprised the other way that some of the rollers were deformed and worn, and one the roller channels was slight damaged from the roller not going staight up the ch...

New belt and 11 gram roller combo installed. Seat of the pants is good but I know the pitfalls. 2up riding is good. Follow the other threads for performance. Splitting hairs now!

Re: Roller weights an peak power and torque

Ran for 50 miles 2up tonight on a cruise with my beautiful better half (300lbs with both of us and most is me) and was cruising 60-63mph on flat road on US 67 between LeClaire IA and Bettendorf at 8000-8200rpm with tad more left on the throttle. Would love to say the roller weights are spot on for t...

I rode 2up with my better half tonight for 50miles on the current setup of my PCX and was cruising 60mph 2up on highway 67 along the mighty Mississippi so I’m appeased for now,,,,,, short lived of course,,,,

Re: FWIW, My PCX compared to Stock Forza observations

I rode a stock Forza yesterday just to see if the extra power was worth investing in for some longer touring. I was sorely disappointed. It's definitely a nice refined machine, but it didn't fit me at all. My knees were above my waist and there really wasn't much more leg room on it. It was like ri...
