Re: rocks & front fenders
Over recently chip sealed roads I've heard that rattle, but I've not had big stones get flung into the fender.

Re: New PCX150 owner......love it...but need info please
Does a full face helmet with shield kill some of the wind noise if the helmet is a snug fit? I've been browsing the helmet pages and the choices are over whelming. The one I have currently is a round one and not very expensive, (I like that), but I hear the more expensive ones are shaped more oblon...

Re: New PCX150 owner......love it...but need info please
windscreen from Honda. Not only was it very expensive, it did not do much to reduce the jet blast that I am currently facing every time I go above 10 mph. At that speed I'll never get there. I just came in from having done some more 'duck a bit and learn' testing in jet blast temps of 100 degrees h...

Nice roads. :-)DrewJW wrote:Filtering is fine, and those who whine about it, are stuck in backwards lands where they made it illegal due to cagers having zero spatial awareness.

Familiar sights. Antietam Battlefield is a nice ride south from there.

Re: Scooter videos
Fish, can you put up a sample video to make your point so it's "visible" to us? I for one would appreciate it. I've never shot a video while moving on my scooter. I figure it mounts chest height and off you go. Guess there's much more to it. Member homie does real good at this. Lanesplitt...

Lane splitting.. Looks risky.. all it takes is one guy to open his door to spill out his coffee and your gone !!. In the UK the guy opening the door would be guilty of an offence and his insurer would have to pay out. Yep and your still dead.. http://jalopnik.com/this-is-why-lane-splitting-can-be-s...

Why is the exhaust so loud? Did you do something to turn it up? Mine isn't that loud at the helmet. I wear full face, maybe you don't?

Re: Scooter videos
I find nobody but me watches my videos. I don't blather on and I don't have music because anytime I load with music YouTube blocks it for copyright infringement. Here's a 6:22 video where I'm riding along the California Coast and later a bit inland with a motorcycle meetup group. The lead is on a V-...

Skyline Drive. It would be fun on a PCX. Dubois, PA? That's 210 miles from the north end of the Skyline Drive. The non-highway roads to get there are going to have 55mph speed limits. You'll have to do a bit of work to chart alternate routes on smaller roads.

Re: Honda CB500X
The NC700 isn't a huge cc engine and it's cruiser-ish design probably keeps it's insurance costs low. The small gas tank is the main killer for me with it. Get the CTX and you don't need a gear indicator. That would be the closet thing to the PCX. Otherwise, 650 V-Strom isn't the same thing as 650 s...

Re: Honda CB500X
Did you look at the V-Strom 650? I just bought one for the same reasons, though I feel a little bad. The PCX is great and maneuverable and really fast, for 150cc. I've taken it on some rough roads and maybe the crack in the right rear fairing is from one of the spills it took earlier this year, but ...

What speeds are "safe" for underinflated tires? I run 67 mph on the freeway. 55 mph sweepers, 40-45 mph in "25 mph" curves.Jge64 wrote:I doubt it will matter at the speeds we run....

I find I lose a bit of air when the tire chunks against potholes, so I need to check and refill them fairly often.[/quote]
That could explain it. I put on 200-400 miles per weekend sometimes over very rough pavement.

Re: How do you put air in your tires?
Once the tyre is filled with air after fitting, I never check them. Both tires were replaced a week and 200ish miles earlier and filled to 29/36 F/R. I checked them because they felt sluggish cornering and were really easy to balance at a stop light. Track stand on a scooter. Front was 24, rear was...

How do you put air in your tires?
Seems a really dumb question, but I can't fit a nice bike pump on the valve stem. That would be the simplest, cheapest way to top off tire pressure while the tires are cold at home. I went to a gas station and couldn't get the straight chuck on the stem. No room. I forced it, but then the pin in the...

Re: National Cycle windscreen install and review
My packing slip has the short code on it. Nothing on the screen to tell me. I didn't measure it. Looks short. Probably that's why wind noise has gone up. Taller screen and noise might have gone down. Very quiet tucked behind it, but I need more wind on my chest sometimes as it gets really hot east o...
