Re: Bringing her home on Saturday!

Yeah I don't like the idea of riding in the miserable weather. I got rained on once and it was not a pleasant experience haha :( It was so heavy that within a few minutes, my whole bottom half was soaked through to the skin... We park our scooters in a car park about half a mile away. It's not that ...

Re: Bringing her home on Saturday!

I passed my CBT in July last year and got my PCX a week or two afterwards. It's done 260 miles so far, not helped by the fact I didn't ride it between the end of September and last weekend lol

Re: Bringing her home on Saturday!

It is amazing :D Yeah, I always assume the worst of other drivers so that I'm 'on the ball'... I've made a couple of mistakes but nothing major and have definitely learned from them - but some car drivers have done really stupid and dangerous things (going through a red light at a crossroads for exa...

Re: Bringing her home on Saturday!

Quite far then! I think if we were to have a meet up in that sort of direction it would have to be an 'overnight' stop because it's a bit far to do 'there and back' in the same day. I quite fancy going to somewhere near Leyburn at some point though - to Forbidden Corner for about the tenth time lol ...

Re: Bringing her home on Saturday!

I'm not sure if I'll ever drive, although it would be useful if I could so I could rent a car and go on holiday etc. Not much space for luggage on a scooter lol... I find driving weird - it'd be much easier if I was sat right in the centre and could also see the end of the bonnet properly! I think I...

Re: Bringing her home on Saturday!

Ooh, congratulations! :P They are really nice. I didn't actually like it when I first saw it but it quickly grew on me and I absolutely love mine now :) I'm 23 too! I was in a slightly similar situation to you, I guess. I took some driving lessons when I was 18 but quit in the end as my instructor w...

Oh no, you're all at it :P

Lucky ducks are made of glass, so it's probably best if you don't eat them to be honest.

I've PM'd a couple of people. I do hope others come, I'm not sure I'll be able to cope with your awful jokes!

Re: Yorkshire 'Meet Up'?

Thank you weatherman ;) Whitby isn't a bad suggestion actually. And it is rather more exciting than the suggestion of Maccy D's haha :D Presumably we'd meet somewhere else first so we could ride together? Bear in mind you'd likely have to go slower than usual because I'm not very fast and Josh is ev...

Yorkshire 'Meet Up'?

Last year 'lactic' and my boyfriend and I met up at Squires Cafe and it was really good - apart from the fact my boyfriend managed to lock his keys under his seat! Fortunately 'lactic' was happy to ride back to Leeds with me and we picked up the spare set :) I was thinking we could do something agai...

Re: First ride on my PCX....

I've never seen it in real life, but it seems pretty scary to me too. I'm sure there must have been a less ridiculous method of keeping traffic moving - everywhere else seems to manage it...

Re: godamnit... I just 'failed' my CBT! :(

They are charging me 40 to re-do it, not the 110 it cost me today luckily.... They said the 40 was for equipment hire' and if I brought along my own bike and clothing it would be free. Still gutted though... Especially where the faulty equipment etc was concerned. Oh well! There is always next time...

Re: godamnit... I just 'failed' my CBT! :(

That sounds a bit dodgy. I've read about some places failing people so they have to pay extra to do it again - I wonder if this was partly to do with it? I know when my boyfriend and I did the course, he hesitated a few times with things but the tutor told him he would have to see him do it properly...

Re: How to protect my scooter over winter?

You're probably right, I doubt they check it very often. I know someone used to park their motorbike in there but Subway complained about the fumes from their exhaust - I reckon we could easily push the scooters round the back though. Someone had a scooter stolen from there in the past which puts me...

Re: How to protect my scooter over winter?

I've looked for courses, but they all seem to be for people who have already passed their test. If I do find any available, I'm not embarrassed about going on them. I'd rather be safe than sorry! I live in a flat right in the centre of Leeds, and I really wish we could park closer. I tried to get pe...

If the battery went completely dead, then what would happen? Can you use another battery to get it started like you can with a car?

Re: How to protect my scooter over winter?

Thanks for the replies. I'm going away for a week but as soon as I'm back I will get it sorted out! :) I had a feeling I'd seen something about it before, but I searched "winter" and it was too common a word, and I checked the "How-To" subforum  Qed it's kind of you to offe...

How to protect my scooter over winter?

I haven't ridden my PCX for about a month and a half now because I've just been too busy. Things have been really stressful and I can't see me riding it in the near future either (it takes too long to get to and then get out on a morning so I've been getting the bus, and my weekends all seem to have...
