My SH300 is 12 months old. In the picture you can see where the spring movement has worn the black paint off, and the exposed metal has rusted.

Would you say this is wear and tear or would you ask for a warranty replacement?

I've got the Termoscud for my Sh300i. They keep you warm and dry. I couldn't get the towel of mine to stop pooling water in the rain. The 300 Forza fuel gauge is abysmal. It goes from ok to empty way before it needs to, so you have no idea of what you have left. The only reliable way to keep safe is to reset the trip every time you fill up.
