Re: Battery charging - a few questions
When you say 5 amp charger, that says to me that you need to know exactly how much power your charger CAN put out, apart from different voltage requirements of now five different battery designs that are being sold to our market today. If you own a car, tractor, cycle, or scooter, etc, you ought to ...

Silicone applied as bushing or contact point can heal a multitude of take apart sins. Almost any vibration can be tamed with a vibration absorbing washer or equivalent.glencoeman wrote:If it is possible, try heating the bodywork with a hot air blower type of heater before removing bodywork.

Re: Top Luggage Box
What top box has anyone added for additional storage on a 2016 PCX150? The Most important item is how a /which Rear Trunk Attachment Kit "support frame" attaches to PCX's chassis for the actual box to mount to. No desire to spend $400 buying Honda's approved item. ========================...

Ice scares me. =================================== I suppose me too. Some 25 years ago in a James bond movie some ''baddies'' were chasing him down the mountain in mountain bikes, ALL STUDDED. They were pretty good in the movie. These are not popular but I bet they could be custom manufactured. Stu...

compact battery boosters
I had thought about buying a 18,000 milli-ampere compact 12 volt booster as insurance with my 2014 Genesis. I'm thinking that that is a momentary boost of 800 amperes (or what most car batteries put out). Here is my question: Can these things be used safely with batteries as small as scooter batteri...

Re: Oil Overfilled By Dealer and Left Brake Handle Vibrating
First, there has been a certain oil fill discrepancy over the years. My manual for my 2013 PCX 150 says that the engine takes 800 cc's of oil or almost the whole quart. The manuals for 2010-2012 say 900 cc. Think about that. I think that is how I lost my engine 16 months ago. In general we usually t...

Re: Back tire has a slow leak I can't find. What to do?
A couple of thoughts: First, replace the tire stem with a new one when/as you replace a tire. Two, you really cannot patch sidewall damage. It won't work and it is unsafe. Three, many leaks that are NOT sidewall leaks can be permanently and cheaply patched by a simple pull through plug. Green ''slim...

Re: Winter comes early on a PCX
There ARE limits: temperature and water. I cover 1/2 the radiator in winter with a metal shield, which forces the motor running temperature closer to 195 F. If you run a motorcycle or scooter with a wide open cooling system (no thermostat) it will run VERY COLD and You will lose 8 - 12 mpg. Obviousl...

Re: One Year Living with the Honda Forza 2018: the Bottom Li
I stopped by a Honda Motorcycle dealership in Deland Fla on the way to Disney in Orlando. They had advertised a number of scooters on their website last year, and I just wanted to look at what was there. The original advertised used scooters were all gone. That stock had sold out. But the person I t...

Sept 14, 2019 To make a longer story shorter, I did not apparently reassemble my earlier work properly and it came back and ''bit'' me. The scooter stopped running, broken etc, . I paid a Honda bike mechanic to fix my mess and pardon my sins. So I now have plenty of replaced components on the 2013 i...

Re: Differences between model years Honda PCX 150
Two up front things to know, which will help you BEFORE you go through the search process: 1. The 2015 model with LED headlights has a completely different wiring diagram than the 2013 model. 2. The engine on the 2013 and 2015 models "MAY" be the same, but the frames are not. The ECU for ...

Re: Differences between model years Honda PCX 150
There are three main body styles of PCX, model years are different in some markets. The original mk1 "owl" look, then came the mk2 LED headlamp with humpless seat and lastly the current mk3 model with ABS front brake and curved wheel spokes. The mk2 is the one which introduced the bigger ...

Differences between model years Honda PCX 150
What would be any important differences between a Honda 2013 PCX 150 and a Honda 2015 PCX 150 ? I would be especially interested in knowing differences in the engine or wiring, etc. Would motors or other parts swap between the two ? The 2015 has LED lights. Did these start coming with the bigger gas...

Re: Is too much engine oil dangerous?
I purchased a 2013 PCX150 in 2018 with only 7 actual miles on it. Somehow even though I was VERY sure the oil was correct on the dipstick, the motor seized up three months after I began driving it around. odd I had it rebuilt at a independent cycle shop. The Honda scooter booklets call for 800 ml o...

Re: 1st experience w variator changeout at do it yourself sh
Keep in mind that some of the 2013 models had a problem with the clutch bearings. It is a known problem that Honda has not acknowledged. When they start making a growling noise when you spin the wheel backwards (bike not running and on center stand) then you will know that they are going. Parts #18...

Re: MPG: Getting around 90
With a partial blocker plate over the radiator IN WINTER, I can maintain 90 mpg. In the summer it depends on engine condition, speed, traffic lights. I have gone from 90 mpg to 107 mpg in the summer. Things tend towards the lowest number. Do remember that in the winter, without a 195 F thermostat or...
