Re: New Japanese fwy capable vs. used Taiwanese fwy comforta

I forgot to mention the seat works correctly on the Downtown :P and there is some more storage space and the lights are a bit better than the Forza.

Re: New Japanese fwy capable vs. used Taiwanese fwy comforta

Move that seat back about 2" further back and I think it would work for me. I wouldn't argue if they wanted to go 3". It has other features that top the Forza IMO. The CVT on the new ones is just as smooth despite some comments I have read. I like the lighter weight (maybe 70 lbs or so) th...

Re: Honda Survey...

I like that bike (with fairings) the more i sit on it. Gas mileage is close to the Forza yet 105 mph top speed. It is only 500 lbs. I would definitely want the DCT w/ ABS.

Re: Just started scooting.

I get those shoulder passers while doing a left on a 50 mph road into my neighborhood. It's a WTF moment. The guy right behind the passer is the guy that may get you.

Can the windshields be cut to fit? My Forza Givi is 1/2" too tall.

Re: Have you had the clutch bearing failure yet?

My dealer said he had changed several over the last two years but I have no idea how many PCX's there are in the area near them. That is the only reason I bought one (and they are inexpensive).

Re: New Japanese fwy capable vs. used Taiwanese fwy comforta

If you are comfortable on the Downtown for an hour or so I think it is a good bike. I actually test rode it twice and had it out for about 30 minutes the second time at the dealer's prompting. My brother owns two Kymcos - an Agility 125 and a side-by-side on a farm and really likes them. Kymco has m...

Re: Have you had the clutch bearing failure yet?

The assembly is pretty inexpensive but it took a few months for it to arrive.

Re: New Japanese fwy capable vs. used Taiwanese fwy comforta

I test rode the Downtown when I was buying my Forza 300. At 5'11" it was clearly too little leg room for me. A new seat could probably fix that. I liked it a lot besides that but I think MRSP was $100 more than the Forza. Neither bike had ABS that I tested here in the US. For regular freeway dr...

Re: Bonus Time Coming For A Few Accessories???

I probably need to add a hi-viz helmet to the list of buys as well. A modular for sure since my 3/4 is already somewhat hi-viz. No Shoei Neotec, though, since my Harley buddies broke on the one side when he dropped it from about 4 feet. So they fixed it for free. His is a bit lighter but I feel safe...

Do they sell the red inserts? Is it easy to mount on the PCX?

I need to haul my collapsible fishing gear in it. :P We take the PCX camping and go to several giant lakes.

Bonus Time Coming For A Few Accessories???

I was thinking of a third play bike like a Honda Grom after riding my buddies a few times or a Yamaha TW200 (I have owned these in the past) but I think I will just pick up some more accessories that are missing for the scooter boys. I am really like the Givi V47 on the Forza but was unimpressed wit...

I keep reading that. I have a spare OEM for each bike and will just stick with them.

All aftermarket belts are of inferior quality to the OEM Mitsuboshi one.
They wear out faster and are more prone to breaking.

There is plenty of indirect or implied censorship that occurs on this forum. Suggesting disregarding certain posts smacks of it. Isn't that protection a golden rule here?

I suggest some review the rules.

I did it w/o removing any panels in the thread. It makes it under a 30 minute job.
