Re: Deals Gap This Weekend (April 16)

I got on the road just before seven Saturday morning. I had already packed the night before: a change of clothes, shaving kit, and associated charges went into a dry bag that fit perfectly in the pet carrier. Other stuff: Camera, water, laptop were in a messenger bag I wore most of the way down. Hin...

Re: Deals Gap This Weekend (April 16)

Grabbing a little lunch at the half way point. Turns out it was 350 miles, not 250 - no idea where that number came from...been a hard ride but seeing a lot I miss on the interstate...

Anyhow, burrito time!

Re: Deals Gap This Weekend (April 16)

Richard My distinguished colleague, easyrider, said most of it as well or better than I could. I will only add that I am staying at a series of cinderblock rooms at the end of the route, at a place that can become deserted at dusk, in a rural area with no cellular (mobile across the pond) service. M...

Re: Deals Gap This Weekend (April 16)

I'm pulling a solo trip for this one...just me and the road...are those banjos I hear??? I've been there several times in the four-wheeled variety, lost of fun, many interesting people from all over the place. This will be my rookie stay at the accommodations at the tail...half the price of a hotel ...

Re: What windshield for tall people?

You get no argument from me. The adjustability of the X-creen is a nice idea, but honestly, the straight up position in the pic is both where I first put it and where is is now. I might play with it some once the weather gets a bit warmer, but it is fine where it is for my chilly morning (and often ...

Deals Gap This Weekend (April 16)

Last minute plans came together and I am Tail of the Dragon bound! Riding down Saturday morning, hope to be there in the early afternoon (250 miles from my neck of the woods), get in some runs of the Dragon and some of the other interesting asphalt in the area, sleep at the "Motorcycle Resort&q...

Re: What windshield for tall people?

I am six foot, and went with the tall Honda screen...and it was great for the chest compressions resulting from the stock shield, but it beat my head like a malt liquor hangover... Since I was already in with the Honda screen (in for a pound and many pennies) I opted to get the extender here: http:/...

Re: Under Seat Lights

Thanks for the write-up! I've never been considered particularly bright, so at least I can do something with my scoot! Seriously, though, this is a simple, elegant solution...I keep to the daylight hours mostly (Wife says I have to be home before the street lights come on or she'll change the locks)...

Re: Pcx150 smart key new owner

Wow! Sorry to tune in late on this thread, but that is one option I would have loved to have on mine... Though there is a good point about turning off...I have a Volvo with their version of the smart key, yet it makes no noise when I walk away - and that car really, really quiet. I can think of onl...

Re: Pics of SH39 Top Case & Mirror Extenders

Got everything swapped over last night. The Honda adapter plate is on the left. Attaching the mount from the topcase to the Shad plate (left) was very simple - only hiccup was holding the nuts and washers in place, upside down to attach the topcase mount (not pictured). I really need a better vocabu...

Re: Pics of SH39 Top Case & Mirror Extenders

Whitenoise, I am speaking from the aspect of a '16, but we are talking apples and apple here, methinks. You don't HAVE to have the shad piece to fit one of their boxes on, but it is one of several hackjobs to get their base (included with the topbox) to fit on the Honda rack. The smarter hackjob wou...

Kompact, Love that Seal Silver they allow our northern neighbors to have. I too am curious about the Airhawk - I tested both the Fora and PCX before making the non-Forza decision...but that color with a nice seat... No...don't start thinking...buyers remorse is a myth... Have fun with that thing, it...

Looking great there Fish, I'd better back a tripod to get some shots like that...

With your Burg and my color PCX, getting a "Mini Me" vibe going on - not a bad thing at all...

Love all your pics,

Re: What's your favorite '15/'16 USA color (poll)?

I had to vote Steel Grey, as that is how I voted with my pocketbook. However, seeing that red in person gave me pause, it is more of a maroon, look very classy. White also looks great. Black is black, was really never my "thing" - and being visible is something of a plus... But hey, that's...
