Re: Mpg question/ idle question

The expression "your mileage may vary" really applies. If you can keep your speeds down and reduce your starts and stops, you will get better mileage. Also, until the motor is broken in your mileage will be lower than normal. Finally, when reading mileage claims from other posters, remembe...

Re: Accommodation on trips

I have used hotels.com while on the road. I've also just looked for the cheap hotel signs from the highway. I have had good luck with KOA camping but they charge the same for a scooter as they do for a 40' RV.

Re: 35 year old disabled man loving his PCX. Intro topic.

Welcome to the world of two wheeled bliss! Don't listen to anyone who says "I wouldn't" or "you shouldn't". I have ridden thousands of miles on small bikes and scooters. Many people have been coast to coast on 150s. I highly recommend the Aerostich catalog. Even if you don't buy ...

Re: Brake Pad Replacement

Are you racing or some other unusual activity? Are you trying to achieve something other than what Honda's engineers had designed it for? I would stick with stock unless you just have an overwhelming urge to do something different.

Re: Honda pcx oil change

We turn our engines at over 100,000 rpm at work. We run nothing but synthetic. The benefits outweigh the extra cost, but in the end it is up to you if you want to save a couple of bucks. One quart is not going to bankrupt me. I put 500 miles on mine the first week I had it.

Re: PCX 125 on the motorway

I have never seen belt wear do anything to top speed. My Yamaha 250 broke its belt at 70mph, fast lane of a Los Angeles freeway. It was a non-event. Engine running but no thrust. Got towed to a nearby dealer. Paid the same if I had done it as preventive maintenance. It could be an issue if there was...

Re: Vlog - Kayaking with Maggie

Ever heard the Ballad of Easy Rider, from the movie? Everyone thinks the theme is Born to be Wild. It isn't. Roger McGuinn starts with the line "The river flows, it flows to the sea. Wherever that river flows, that's where I'll be..."

Cosmetic improvement?

I saw the spray on-peel off paint at the store. I thought a splash of red on the matte finish parts by my feet might look good on an otherwise all black scooter. First, the paint was so thin that after five coats it was still mostly black. I put on a SLIGHTLY heavier coat and in ran. Not good. I dec...

Re: New Member!

This is a great scooter! Of course I rode the freeway! It did just fine ;) San Fran to Vegas is just a short hop. I was wishing for a throttle lock. In 2008 I bought a Genuine Buddy 150 in Cleveland Ohio and rode it to San Fran. Bottom line, I'll be selling the GoldWing now that I have the PCX. Whil...

Re: When is it time to move up to a Big Boy Bike?

This question is like asking what is the best cheese, or your favorite color. I have been riding for 50 years, I have owned every kind of bike in every size imaginable. My current rides are the PCX150 that I got this week, a GoldWing and a Burgman 650. The best bike is the one that suits you. It dep...

Re: Turn signal running lights??

Thanks! A little hard to tell from those pics. I have no interest in the headlights themselves, just the lights above and behind the headlights. The place where civilized countries mount the turn signals. Is it a major project to remove the headlight assembly? I was thinking access to the backside s...

I found a black 2013 PCX150 with only 103 miles on it! It was at a dealer in a San Francisco suburb. I bought it and rode it home to Las Vegas! I'll soon be selling the GoldWing. I have a few ideas for personalizing the little scoot!

Turn signal running lights??

I see the non-US models have turn signals/indicators in the body. Our feds require the stalks. I get that. When I had a Genuine Buddy those lights were referred to as "deadlights" since the sockets were there but simply not hooked up. Short of buying a new headlight assembly, is there an e...
