Re: Does my bike need an annual service if it's only done 1,500 miles?

RideLondon wrote: Sun Oct 31, 2021 3:42 am Exactly as the title says. I have a 2018 PCX, which has only done 1,500 miles since its last service last November (from 4,000 miles up to 5,500). Do I still need a minor service (oil and filter), or shall I wait until I hit the suggested interval of 8,000 miles?

Many thanks.
No.

Re: Lifespan

Changing the oil at 1k is excessive.

Most bikes like this end their lives by being written off through accident damage or real neglect rather than engine wear.

You are almost certainly overthinking it.

Re: Just need to say I'm blown away that people doubt and refuse to believe the 21 can hit 85mph

I purchased my PCX on 8/18/21. I rode it 340 miles on county roads, through 3 thunderstorms. I started my journey in Dallas and ended in League City, TX. My total trip took 7.5 hours. When I started my journey, the odometer was at 0, and my gas mileage was avg 92mpg. I weigh 200 pounds and I can co...

Re: what has happened to this site?

My 2013 model is great and dependable, though I am about to stop riding all together due to age. Still, it has been dependable and is esay to work on. This "throw away" generation thinks that they need the newest model of something in order to get dependability, so what I am seeing on thi...

Re: Topbox/rack Load

To give an idea of the strength of the Givi rack, I've lifted the scooter with it. The problem isn't what weight the rack can cope with, it's the effect of the weight on handling. Nobody seems to be listening to this. The more you put on the backbox the more it takes the weight of the front wheel. ...

Have you tried it yet.

They are generally set to high for me but you will need to see for yourself. Sit on the bike, without gloves, and see where the fingers naturally lie.

Re: new zuma from yamaha

Well, gents and ladies: I had been shopping for an ADV150 this winter, but I put a deposit down on the first new PCX I saw advertised in my region, then waited patiently for a bunch of long weeks. When it arrived, I backed out, and a couple of days later, ordered the new Zuma instead. It arrived in...

Perhaps this was all a typo misunderstanding (85 vs 65) and the OP is less blown away now.

Thanks for your replies. Mel46, I did buy adjustable levers from them but they adjusted further away, not closer. Their closest setting was the same as the original ones. I asked if they had ones that adjusted closer and they told me they didn’t. You You, I think it’s once I’ve grabbed the brake le...

The mechanic put in Motul 7100, but I wasn't there when he poured it in to see the colour. Turns out Motul 7100 4-stroke oil is indeed red, very weird. Re: Levers for tiny hands

Hi everyone, new PCX rider here. I’m loving my bike so much but having all sorts of trouble reaching the brake levers. They are so far away for my tiny hands that sometimes when I brake (especially in fast braking situations) I’m actually rolling on the throttle. Strange as reaching for the brake l...

Chances are if you ran it another 1-2k, they would self clearance. lol. Just wondering ..... have you ever experienced loose or tight valve clearances naturally correcting themselves over time? Not being critical, just curious if this can occur. My experience has been that prolonged incorrect gaps ...
