Re: Real world weight limit on Shad cases?

First of all I would like to remind anyone who has not done so yet, please make sure that you do not have one of those Honda recalled base plates. I went to the Honda website and found the recall notice (K45 / April 2016). quote: "Honda Motor Co. has determined that a defect which relates to m...

Re: Real world weight limit on Shad cases?

Shad says 3 kgs (6.6 lbs) weight limit on some of their top cases. Is this just lawyer speak, or can you put, say, double that weight? My Honda top case has the exact weight limits and only recently did I learn that I exceed the limit quite often A standard 12 oz tin of beer is about 372 grams x a ...

Re: Broken Honda trunk box

Good luck with that! I can tell that took some time. . .. Being from up north as you are the only thing I can say is that the electrical tape may get a bit brittle in the cold weather. There are sleeves that you can purchase also to go over wiring. The flexibility depends upon the design and materi...

Re: Broken Honda trunk box

well I created another version of the MacGyver fix with some glue, wire wrap and electrical tape. I'm sure the glue will not hold up, but the wire and tape should keep it together.

If this version fails, I'll likely try the idea by PCX150Rider...just need to pick up some lugs

of the NFL team you listed, I think the Seattle logo would work the best for a seat design....and I don't even like the Shithawks :)

Re: Do you pull ahead of the stop line?

I always pull ahead of the stop line when I am in front. I usually sit in front of the stop line, but behind the crosswalk. I never thought this was a problem til yesterday when a passenger in a work truck sitting in the left-hand turn lane next to me, pointed an angry finger to the ground and indi...

Re: Broken Honda trunk box

If you want the lines to come inward, perhaps you could loop another bit of line through a moderate sized nut (3/8"? 4-6 mm?) and tie the line to the center of each support cord. Or not worry, unless the trapped line is screwing up your box's seal or offending your sense of "right". ...

Re: Broken Honda trunk box

@PCX150Rider This is the PERFECT idea using crimp connectors, as I can re-use some of the original hardware, just basically replacing the broken plastic arms with 16 or 18 AWG wire This concept can ensure both arms are the identical length, as right now one is a touch longer than the other. I work f...

Re: A 6-pack of wine fits perfectly under the seat

The luggage carrier weight limit isn't really up to a car battery, or 15 bottles. I agree about the car battery being way over the limit, but a 15 pack of beer is about 5.5 KG which is over the 3 KG (6.6 LBS) capacity limit but not that bad I exceed the limit all the time bringing home beer and/or ...

Re: A 6-pack of wine fits perfectly under the seat

The battery in my Honda Accord died today, so I removed it, put in the under-seat compartment of my PCX and drove to Kal-Tire..... bought a new Die-Hard and left them the dead one. They said they were surprized when I pulled up in my PCX, as they don't service motorcycles and said to themselves &quo...

Re: Broken Honda trunk box

I replaced the wire with a shoe lace, looks better but functionally not as good as the wire would bend inwards, where as the string can go any which way and can get caught in the lid when closing.

I think I'll go back to the wire concept, but will use black wire and make it look better
