Your point was well noted in the first post, and I believe I already mentioned that the next bike I purchase will indeed be kept full stock.gn2 wrote:If you had kept it standard you probably wouldn't have had a problem.

Re: Might be time to say goodbye...
It wasn't so much the waste of money that's the problem as much as it is the fact that the utter lack of mechanical support for maxi-scooters is pretty much non-existent where I live.

Re: Might be time to say goodbye...
Yep. Could also be that there's a nonexistent market for "almost sportbike" kind of power when you could probably get a used CBR250R for the same price.

At the dealer? They told me they can't take it unless it's full stock.

Re: Might be time to say goodbye...
The ad is way too long. But don't change it. That approach might find a buyer. Put the paragraphs about damage to the bike (and laying it down) at the very end of the ad. As soon as i read that, i did not want to read any further. Your honesty is wonderful; but it is more like an ebay ad than a Cra...

Might be time to say goodbye...
https://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/mcy/5115664747.html I put it up for sale 8) . Not sure how well it's done, if there's too much information or what not. Not sure how reasonable the asking price is, as there are only 3 other posts for a PCX, and all of them are 2013 models. Also not sure how long ...

Re: Saving up for that BBK
Indeed, what model is this? Speaking from personal experience, the 2015 model has changes to both the throttle body and wiring that could complicate a BBK installation. Unless you absolutely cannot operate a clutch, I would suggest saving up for an actual motorcycle. I was going for performance mods...

Re: New PCX today!
Word of advice before you get too carried away:
Don't touch the engine. There are a few changes in the 2015 model that makes it a headache.

It is the day when we celebrate being.....what was that thing we faught for?? Free, as in "Hey, here more free stuff. Let's run for the border!"...nope, that can't be it. Hmmm...how about..."Hey, we have the right to choose who rules us". Well, we did have that right once upon a...

Pretty sure the belt can go a few thousand miles before wear becomes an issue.

Re: Brake upgrade
I use the rear/ combo brake most of the time. It's perfectly adequate unless you want to stop in a hurry. Would that really improve without the rider losing more weight? I've practiced quick stops before with my new brake hose and sintered brake pads, but I always held back from squeezing it in all...

Re: Brake upgrade
rear brakes do just 10% of the braking job, because when you are braking, the rear wheel goes up and loose traction. 90% of the braking is done by the front. So actually I don't care about the performance of the rear drums. And, by the way, to brake really hard you have to push both front and rear ...

Re: First "Off"
I had a 2012 Kymco Super8 150 and wife decided to clear laquer a wooden rocking chair while I was at work with a rattle can. She didn't bother to move or cover the bike. It had 3,000 miles on it and was in showroom condition, with a nice coat of overspray. I felt like it was totaled. I sold it and ...

Re: Is it the transmission?
I was thinking more along the lines of: A) I feel pretty comfortable with tearing apart the transmission, sans the actual gears. I figure this means I ought to be ready to do most of the normal maintenance on a motorcycle. B) If something breaks beyond the transmission, I'm not equipped to fix it. I...

Re: Is it the transmission?
I stuck the shorter drive boss back in, along with the missing transmission case bolts and a couple of bolts that seemed to secure the clamp for the throttle cable to the cylinder block. No change to stand speed, but the belt didn't seem loose in low gear anymore, so it'll be interesting to see what...

Re: Takegawa FICon2
How does it run without the FiCon? Do you really need any fuel trim to go with that pipe? If you really want to do it right, the Bazzaz Zfi and Zafm would be much better. . http://www.bazzaz.net/index.php/honda/pcx150-12-15 . http://www.bazzaz.net/index.php/ems-accessories/z-afm-air-fuel-mapper . Re: Takegawa FICon2
What are each of those maps meant for? If #6 is meant for a PCX with a Takegawa BBK or Performance Camshaft installed, it's small wonder it's not running.

Re: Is it the transmission?
Well, it's hard to say whether it's really "fixed" at this point. It's pulling at about 8000-8500 rpms, which does seem high for the weights, and the fact that I don't have the Takegawa spring. Speed is 75 mph on the speedo at 9600 rpms, which is about 70.5 mph GPS. Still better than stock...
