Re: security
I've got a cover on although I'll need to look at something bigger as I fitted my Givi topbox on yesterday The cover I have won't fit if I leave the box on. Get the largest size cover if that's the case. However I strongly recommend not leaving the box on anyway if you're leaving it parked in a sha...

Re: Disc lock alarm recommendations ??
I don't understand how that's even possible given that the alarm should go off if you sit on it and try to get going.

Re: Disc lock alarm recommendations ??
2 weeks should be fine in my experience. Longer than that, and I would take one day to bring the battery in and charge it. Kryptonite is an American brand. I would say it's a good sign that you don't know about it, as foreign brands are going to be better than locally available brand of locks simply...

Re: Disc lock alarm recommendations ??
Don't get a disc lock with an alarm then? If you're twitchy, you could get a dedicated alarm system like the Scorpio i900 system, which you can adjust sensitivity on or simply silence the alarm and only set off the remote fob. Disc lock in front and a mini Kryptonite New York Lock around the rear wh...

From what I heard, the jcosta variator was extremely disappointing. I believe NCY and Daytona are the current favorites.

Re: Gas to put in my PCX 150
I put pure gasoline in my tank and continue to do so(beyond the PCX), the 89 octane is just a bonus, it doesn't come in any other flavors.
Hard to say if there's any real benefit in doing so, I just don't think there's any benefit in diluting fuel with ethanol.

Re: When do you fill up your PCX150? (2013)
I think Honda has an annoying habit of being overly pessimistic on their fuel gauge readings. My CB300F has a tank capacity of 3.4 gallons, but every time I fill up on the last bar, I'm only able to put in about 2.1-2.2 gallons. Manual says if it starts blinking on the last bar, I've got about .67 g...

Poor gearing. If you're doing frequent freeway riding, I'd get a motorcycle or step up to a Forza or Burgman. PCX isn't comfortable on the freeway unless you mod the hell out of it.

Re: J.Costa variator on 2015 PCX 125 ESP
Not that I'm modding my pcx but isn't it acceleration on the horizontal and uphill that matters - not downhill? You should be able to go fast downhill with no engine :) Depends on gearing, otherwise the rev limiter(and thus the engine) is what will slow you down. But then again, with all that geari...

I use that app too . Stock coolant cap has a red label, that looks like a high pressure cap from Yumi.
Sadly, I was only able to get about 74 mph before I sold my PCX. I drool when I think of what I could have gotten with a larger throttle body.

Until all bikes have ABS, I still think practicing how to brake is worthwhile.gn2 wrote:Even on a perfect dry road ABS will extract the maximum braking available.

Ouch. That sounds rather unusual as SYM is Taiwanese made, which I would still rank above Chinese GY6 mass produced turds.

ABS is not available in the US. Which is fine with me, I might as well get used to how my bike operates.

Re: How to remove the speed limiter?
Does the ncy variator have a negative effect on mpg? By itself? Not much. It largely depends on the weights in the variator. Lighter weights = higher rpms and thus faster acceleration. It would also mean higher rpms at low speeds. Higher rpms also means more fuel consumption. One unavoidable fact i...

Really liking the CB300F Valiant. Very nice. ;) Would you not consider an aftermarket full system exhaust? :) No, it's actually amusing for me to ride around a fast sportbike that's dead silent. At least, I think it's fast: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/mediequick/39a2422e-683d-45cf-be59-6...

You might find that the harder thing to do is to pretend to be something you're not. Interesting personal tidbit: When I was riding my PCX, I had no friends. Now that I've moved up to a CB300F, I have... no friends Q_Q If someone has a problem, you can offer to drive your car to work, just be sure t...

Re: 2015 PCX 150. Should I buy?
Have you considered a motorcycle? The 250cc starter bikes can often be found for cheap on craigslist. I think maintenance wise they might be simpler if only because there are more mechanics familiar with them than there are those who know how to work on a maxi-scooter. That to me is a big thing, as ...
