Re: From Honda motorcycles to a Honda scooter
Welcome and here's to your making that sale. I, myself went from a '76 R/75 to a PCX150. The agility alone was worth the trip. Enjoy!

Regular Mobil one 10w30 here. In fact it's in every motor I have since the '80s.

Re: Brand New Owner/Rider!
Welcome! As to "bad for the motor", maintain it as directed and chances are very good it will run as long as you want it to (well, until you want to trade it for a newer model).

Re: Changed your bar ends?
Red Loc-Tite? Try heating the bolt/screw with a hot soldering iron. That will usually soften the Loc-Tite enough to get the bolt moving. These aren't reverse-thread, are they? Wouldn't be the first thing on these bikes like that (mirrors).

Re: Changed your bar ends?
I'm not giving up on these Givi muffs yet, and guess I can get them to fit if I swap the standard Forza bar ends for some which are longer and have a smaller diameter. Has anyone changed their bar ends for something like this? You could try one of these: http://www.harborfreight.com/impact-screwdri...

Re: Does anyone know how to Retrieve lost screws?
You could get a telescoping retrieval magnet with a metal "foreskin" ring on it Have you got a photo, don't think I want to google anything with foreskin rings in the phrase. Use DuckDuckGo. They don't track your searches. Is that a Charlie Hebdo comic in your avatar? In any case, here ya...

Re: Does anyone know how to Retrieve lost screws?
You could get a telescoping retrieval magnet with a metal "foreskin" ring on it to keep it from sticking to other things on the way through. I have a couple of those at work. Very handy.

I agree. They've performed quite satisfactorily. Well-selected, Honda!sendler2112 wrote:I like the stock IRC's I will take every set that gets taken off.

Generally speaking the best economy will be had at the fastest speed before invoking air resistance. On a calm day, on level ground, 30-35(mph) is about the best.

Re: Economy
Cold motors have higher fuel demand. Cold weather exacerbates this, as well. That would be pretty much every liquid-fuelled motorist's experience. That's some mighty fair fuel economy you're getting.

Re: re: changing coolant in 2013 PCX 150
I removed the two lower radiator cover bolts and loosened the upper bolt (behind the right folding foot-peg) enough to pivot the cover far enough to open and close the drain plug when I changed the coolant. No body-panel removal at all. To get at the block plug, put the 1/4 drive socket on a 1/4 dri...

Re: Wind damage...
Obviously, have the ethical testicles to introduce yourself to the car's owner and work it out. Interesting that you'd ask strangers on the net for advice like this. Put yourself in the other guy's place a minute. How would you like this handled? Stuff happens. You never know, the MG driver might be...

The shield will help a lot with yer body. You will feel the wind gusts load the bike more, though. One way to find out, really. Do you know of anyone who has one mounted and will let you take it for a ride?

Re: feeling the wind
When you say you're being "pushed around", are you talking about your body or your body and the whole bike? These things are pretty light and do get tossed around in a decent wind gust. Not much substance to hold ya down. I stay off the freeway. I like the tall shield on my pcx. Much calme...

Re: Engine warning light
If I understand correct, this won't do damage to the bike running it, but is likely giving a false reading ... is that what others of you think? Correct. It won't hurt it. The controller substitutes a steady value for the lost or messed up MAP signal to keep you running. It won't run well, but it w...

Re: Engine warning light
Okay, I have the manual in front of me. These things don't have EGR. They do have MAP sensors (manifold vac) which is what the "12" code is("map sensor voltage high). It will run in a default or "limp-in" mode (with a steady MIL lit). The "usual" hint for this is t...

Re: getting scratches and scuff mark off headlight
I use Meguire's rubbing compound (medium cut, fine cut) followed by Scratch-x and a good waxing. My plastic seems to cope with abrasion pretty well with this approach. The wax makes the bugs clean off really easy, too.
