Re: Recall letter number five...?

As far as replacement of rear brake pads, they do not have as much material as the front pads which would explain the early replacement of them. New EBC rear brake pads have a prefix "S" to the part number which signifies they are slimmer than normal pads.

Re: Recall letter number five...?

You can check for any recalls that may be pending on the Honda UK motorcycles website. I've just checked my Forza and there are no outstanding recalls to be done - it already has had two of the fuel pump recalls done.

Re: Making the rear brake pads last???

I have just replaced the rear brake pads on my Forza 300 at 6650 miles. They were worn down to approx. the wear bars (grooves) on the pads so I still had about 1/3 life left in the old ones. I noticed that the fluid in the rear brake reservoir had dropped to almost bottom of the window so I knew I h...

Re: Oxford Premium Touring heated grips

You really need to remove the right hand grip and then remove the little plastic mouldings on the twistgrip. I have had to do this on most of the Hondas I have owned. I used a small flap wheel sander in my hobby drill to remove them. I did manage to wire up my Oxford grips direct to the battery but ...

Be very careful when riding through deep water as the air intake for the air filter/engine is quite low down (at the front of the belt cover)

Re: Forza 300 Rear brake pads

I checked my rear pads recently (about 4200 miles) and there was not much wear. However, when I ride , I tend to mostly use the front brake.

I've found that the damper is OK when the weather is warm but useless when it is cold.

Re: Pros and cons of going from 300 Forza to Silver Wing?...

I used to have both a while ago. Although the Silver Wing is much more powerful, it is also much heavier if you need to push it in and out of garages etc and you will notice the difference! The suspension on the Wing is better but is does have a tendency to drop into corners at slow speed - this can...

I do actually have the Honda tall screen fitted and it does not interfere with the hand guards.

Re: Forza Hand Guards

I have fitted Barkbusters Storm hand guards to my Forza 300. You do not need to remove the handlebar inner - just change the weights and spacers that come in the kit (which has full instructions) and bolt into the existing inners. You need the S7 kit as the S1 kit will not fit as the handlebar switc...

Re: Rear Shocks

It seems that a lot of Honda's have poor rear suspension. I also own a NC700S Honda motorcycle and the rear shock was just as poor as the Forza. I rectified it by buying a rear shock from Nitron.

Re: rear tyre valve advice please.

Motorcycle tyre shops advise not to use angled tyre valves unless the wheel has a holding bracket like the Honda Silverwing 600 or Goldwing. Using the standard type valves will give no trouble.

Re: rear tyre valve advice please.

I would return to the garage and have a standard tyre valve fitted. I think angle valves were originally designed for agricultural tractors. The Honda Silverwing 600 uses an angled tyre valve with a bracket which goes over the valve to stop it moving - you must use the bracket if fitting angled tyre...

Re: Brakes

The problem with the rear brake caliper on the Forza is that you cannot even check the wear on the brake pads without taking off the silencer (muffler). As it is, maintenance of the rear brake caliper is often neglected.

Re: talk SilverWing to.me please

I have just sold my Silverwing, mainly because I was struggling with the weight when pushing it in and out of the garage. It is a heavy scooter (about 240kg), more so if it has ABS fitted. I fitted my Silverwing with progressive fork springs which made it much better.

Re: Fork oil checking

I would suggest that you buy a service manual for your Forza - available on the internet from the USA. The hex hole screw at the bottom of the fork leg should not be removed unless you are going to totally dismantle the internals of each fork leg as it can be very difficult to put the hex screws bac...

Re: Forza Shocks

If you shorten the shocks, you will probably lose ground clearance which could be dangerous. Have you looked at alternative bike boots? Daytona Lady Star boots (although expensive) add about an inch to the heels to assist in touching the ground.

Handguards

I have just fitted a pair of Barkbusters handguards (S7 kit) to my Forza and they are perfect. Very easy to fit (max 15 minutes total) and do not touch screnn - mine has the Honda higher screen. I have also fitted Oxford touring heated grips so ,hopefully, will have warm (ish) hands this winter. No ...
