running great - then engine just died -

PCX zipping along – engine died – turned over but no start. . Wednesday I left home – stopped and topped up gas – rode up to clinic about 40 miles. Scooter ran great. . Came out of clinic – started right up. Scoot was running very nicely on trip home with no problems when at about 30+ miles it cut ...

Re: Riding 2013 Pcx over weight limit

My manual claims 33 psi on the rear solo, and 36 psi two up. Hay Drew, that is what Honda feels would be the correct ratings for everyday normal. . However, there is also a spec on the side of each tire stating what the tire mfg feels is safe. Each tire and mfg will have its own rating - so you hav...

Re: Riding 2013 Pcx over weight limit

Ok so, in the long term things may fail early. I don't plan on riding like this all the time. Maybe say 20 miles or less a week. Now on the short term, the rear tire getting really hot, is there a cause for concern? As for that picture, sure i wouldnt mind over loading but we're going 55+ mph... lo...

Re: Riding 2013 Pcx over weight limit

According to the manual, 386lbs is the pcx's weight limit. Me and my wife's combined weight is 460lbs. I've tried to look online for any issues riding like this but all I ever find is "its dangerous". So far ride wise, we're fine, maintaining 55mph. What I want to know is, is there any me...

Re: 120/80-14 Tire for the Rear

It's been suggested on other forums that running a front tire on the rear with the Tread pattern reversed is an option if you can't find a tire in the size you want, on bikes as big as a Goldwing. Got me wondering if this tire would be good for doing that. Any thoughts? Would correct a bit of speed...

Re: Power cleaning! Is this a good for the brakes?

I'm going to go with do NOT use a pressure washer near any bearings . . Spraying the soap on should be OK as it is low pressure. . Use a regular garden hose to rinse it off - again, low pressure. . The problem with any high pressure wash is that it can force water past the seals and into the bearing...

Re: Is it the transmission?

Hmm, could it be the clutch bearing? I'm not sure what part of the transmission that would be, as I'm currently running the NCY torque driver & rear pulley assembly, along with a Malossi delta clutch and clutch bell. I recall hearing Mel describe how his rpms were going up, but his speed wasn't...

Re: First time service

So the mileage on my scooter is 902 and it hasn't been serviced yet. Is this alright???? I do plan on getting it serviced sometime next month. I don't do any long riding. I just ride around my little town going to work, to the store, and to the park to work out. My tires are good and i haven't wrec...

Re: TAKEGAWA Lowering Heavy-Duty Rear Shock

I had a set on my PCX for a bit, but switched back to stock. I scared the crap out of myself, because the lowered suspension means less cornering clearance by a fair margin. I nearly lowsided. They severely diminished my ability to curbhop too, which is necessary in Atlanta. Regardless, the ride wa...

Re: Flickering Headlights after replacing battery on PCX 125

hay hughbroome2, there are several possibilities. . I would be very suspect of the new battery that was put in. Did the dealer show you the battery before installing and was it new. Did it have the same amp hour rating as the Honda battery ? . It is also possible that the battery has a low amp hour...

Re: TAKEGAWA Lowering Heavy-Duty Rear Shock

I have Takegawa lowering shocks. The only reason I got them was to lower the bike. The ride is a bit better than stock shocks. Hitting potholes seems about the same because you still get the jolt from the front. . Indyglow and Mel . What setting do you use for the preload ?? I am assuming that 1 is...

Re: Kickstarter. Why isn't it stock on our bikes?

For most bikes anyway. My girlfriend's Metropolitan is EFI and has a kickstarter. . Not really sure how well that works. . IF the scoot is fuel injected it uses a fuel pump to to get fuel to the injector under pressure. The fuel pump requires a certain and constant voltage to pump. If your battery ...
