Re: Making the rear brake pads last???

I have 2021 350. I've done 1400Km ( 8750 miles) in a very hilly area of Portugal where I ride it hard in all weather. I've just checked the rear pads and they are fine, about half worn. I expect that they will do at least the same again. I don't know how some people are wearing out a set of rear pad...

Re: Exhaust studs stripped

Exhaust stud is no longer a problem, at least not for me, as I have traded it in for a Forza 350.
I seem to remember that I didn't have to remove the exhaust to knock out the centre stand shaft, although I may be wrong, as it was a long time ago. Plenty of copper slip and Iv'e not had to do it again.

Re: Honda Forza 350.

Picked up my Forza 350 yesterday. It's a white one, that I really didn't want, but the dealer here in Portimão, Portugal couldn't get the blue one I ordered after three weeks, so I took what they had in stock. I have ridden a 300 for about 1400km (875 miles), borrowed from a friend. I was impressed ...

Re: Bought a Forza - Forum Hiatus

I have had two PCXs for the last nine years. A 125 for three then a 150 for the last six. I really enjoyed the PCX and was very happy with it until a friend who has a Forza 300 was going away for a month and offered to lend it to me while he was away. One day on the Forza and I was at the Honda deal...

Exhaust studs stripped

I always use a torque wrench. Last time I tightened the exhaust nuts to the required 29NM one of the studs stripped the thread out of the head. It's now held on with just one stud and nut. I'm going to see if I can Helicoil it, but not sure if there is sufficient room to do so without removing the e...

Re: PCX 150 oil type

I have run mine on 10W40 car synthetic and it's fine. Done 45000km so far. Now using some Ford spec. 5W30 that I had leftover when I sold my Focus, still running fine!
Oil changed every 8000km / 5000 miles as per the Honda recommended service intervals.

Re: Tinted Visors

I once had a photochromatic anti-fog visor insert, it worked very well in English weather. I've not used it since moving to Portugal, as visor fogging is not usually, a problem here.

Re: Is it reasonable to take a PCX on a cross country trip

I did 550km / 330 miles in a day, on my PCX150, from the south coast of Spain, near Malaga, to the west coast of Portugal. Stopped twice for fuel and coffee. Put a cushion on the seat. Full throttle all the way, almost all motorways.

I don't see why people fit a tall screen to a bike the only goes a little over 60mph. I find the standard screen to be fine. As for noise, use earplugs, or buy a quieter helmet.

Re: New Honda PCX 160

I don't suppose the 160 will be coming to Europe. I have a 150, bought in Portugal in 2015, but it's no longer available here. The 150 is very rare here, I have only seen one other. It may be due to being able to ride a 125 on a car licence but a bike licence is required for a 160. When I bought min...

Re: PCX Tuning 64Mph Cap

I bought a scanner cable from lonelec.co.uk, it didn't work, wouldn't connect to my Foxwell scanner.
I emailed Lonelec, they took a week to answer and just said that it may not connect to all Honda motorcycles. £22 down the drain. Don't bother.

Re: Brake Pad replacement and fluid checks

I just checked my brakes. I ride it quite hard in a hilly area and there is about 3mm / ⅛ inch of pad left after 33000km / 20600 miles. When I replace them it will be with standard Honda pads, they seem fine to me.

Don't over service it, do it at the service intervals recommended in the manual that came with the scoot. Honda does know what they are talking about when setting these intervals!

Re: New PCX 150 Battery keeps going flat

Dose the scoot have a GPS tracker? I fitted one to mine as, where I live in Portugal I can't get theft insurance. It's fine in the summer when I use the scoot most days, but in winter I have to put it on a trickle charger as if not used for about five days it will flatten the battery.

Re: Losing oil?

I have not seen anything in my Portuguese manual about using any specific type of oil for the break-in period. Use what Hond put in it when they built it, they know more about what type of oil to use than any of us on this forum will ever know. I changed my oil at 1000Km (600 miles) and then every 8...

Re: Broken down :(

I had my belt break last weekend. It was shredded into tiny pieces, most no longer than an inch (25mm) long. The scoot, PCX150, 2015 LED model had done 27975Km. (17485 miles). I didn't change it at the recommended 24Km. The reason I left it longer was that I mostly do long runs, and not town/ city r...

K&N filters are expensive BS. They neither flow significantly more air or filter better than a stock Honda filter (or any other manufacturer). A complete waste of money.

I have never changed the oil sump plug washer for a car, a bike or a scooter in 40 years, and have never had one leak. Just use the old one, it will be OK.
