Re: Halfords socket set

That is a fair amount of money - it really should be a very nice set.

Re: Will the Shoei Neotec fit under the PCX seat?

Well, I thought that my S&S2000 fit, but I found that the seat was bending a bit to accommodate it. I could see a bit of yellow/green peeking out one day, and then noticed that the seat no longer seals onto the compartment. If the fit is tight, take a good close look at the seat when closed to s...

Re: Finally got to ride.

Excellent News. You have been a very good (and unbelievably patient) girl to sit out the past month, but there will hopefully still be some awesome scooting weather coming up.

Re: Today's Quick Pic

The Admiral and I took the scoot to the coast for a bit of a ride. There was a nice walk out to some rocks, and a good view of why harbors are so popular around here. BTW - MrSuperChicken - the Admiral and I have to be around 380 lb, and, with the exception of the rear shock bottoming out if I am no...

Re: Torque Wrench

I'm not sure this rates as a how-to, but you might try finding a lag screw (1/4", 5/16", whatever...) and a bit of 2x4 wood. Drill a smallish pilot hole maybe an inch or so deep and insert the lag screw. Fix the appropriate socket onto your torque wrench, and start the screw. Set the torqu...

Re: You Have to see this video! :-)

So, how exactly do you get the city of San Francisco to shut down the bridge and a good chunk of the city to let you madly tear around?

I expect money was involved, but the amount had to be awesome.

Re: My other rides

Are they all on the road at the same time? Here in the US, at least in my state, I would be buried in insurance costs.

Looks like fun, though. A bike for every mood (except.. don't you need a cruiser...?)

That ride looks really great, especially coming from Massachusetts (land of potholes and frost heaves).

Re: State of the forum - July 2013!

Disagree about thumbnails, unless links led to larger pics. I have been looking recently at tank bag installs here, and some of the pics are so small that you really can't figure out attachments or get a feel for what you are actually seeing. I can use the magnifier thing, but if you don't have the ...

Re: What seat do you have?

Well that looks pretty darn nice. Does a full helmet still fit underneath? Might you have a link to the place where you got it?

Not I'm doing any mods yet - only 120 miles, but that does look like a very nice change-out.

Re: 600 mi first service?

The dealer around here has a bit of a monopoly. I asked Service when I picked up the scoot about the first service at 600 miles. The oil change would be $40. The valve check.... well he had to go out back and look up the job, and came back with $250. Clearly they do not have much experience with the...

So... About that weight Limit...

I was thumbing through my manual and came across the little note saying that the max weight capacity was 348 lb (158 kg, page 110). I run around 200 lb. I've been married long enough not to ask the obvious question, but I rather expect that we exceed 348 lb. by 30 or so. My question is will I just p...

Re: new to most things

Download pixresizer. Free, very easy to use tool to (obviously) resize pictures. Most forums don't want HUGE picture files, and this will take them down just fine. It will also allow you to make a pic into an avatar. Not sure of the quality going down to 120 x 120, but it will do OK. If not, try GIM...

Re: Honda Nighthawk 250 (CB250)

The motorcycle school I just went through used Nighthawks. Apparently, they are darn near bullet-proof. They certainly are newbie-proof (although finding neutral on the one I had was pretty tricky). Congrats on the new wheels - it seems to me that you got a deal (although your time should really be ...

Re: Dog thread!

Rusty is a rescue from Puerto Rico, and so is what they call a Sato. He is HUGE by Puerto Rico standards. We figure he is a cross between a greyhound and a Belgian Malinois - he has both physical and emotional characteristics of both breeds. I think he looks great, and really should be a real breed....

Re: State of the forum - July 2013!

Maddiedog, GN2's solution works just fine for me. You would think that someone that has been messing with PC's since the dark days of DOS on an 8088 would know about that trick, but... nooo.... Is it worth changing? If it were wicked easy, then yes, for the sake of others who do not find or know of ...
