Re: Sort of an Accessory
I am reasonably sure that I have the only rhinoceros lawn ornament in town. It was my son's middle school art project, made of paper mache. After he got it back, we couldn't throw it out. No.... Nor could we afford to have it clogging up the afore-mentioned garage. The lad decided that it could be w...

Re: Saw a picture, found one and bought it straight away
If I tried weaving, splitting lanes, or going around cars at a light or a traffic hold up, I would be a dead man. At a minimum, ticketed, and, more likely, doored. The 50 cc scoots can get away with it since they are SUPPOSED to be at the side of the road, but with a regular licence plate, you are m...

Sort of an Accessory
Garage space is tight around here in the winter, when my 15 foot sailboat is stuffed into the garage along with the snowblower and other implements of snow destruction. I did not want to add the eminently scratchable Mantis to the mix. We decided to get a "shed-in-a-box" 6' x6' x6' scooter...

Re: Greetings fellow PCXers!
Finally - someone nearby! I got Mantis in the beginning of July and have not seen a single other PCX. I'll keep my eyes open for you when travelling the busy streets of Salem. Salem will be a challenging place to ride safely with all the tourists, distractions, and regular old inattentive drivers. T...

Speed and Strength S2000 Large does not quite fit. You can close the lid, but the helmet will push up the seal and be visible.

Re: PCX 150 in the shop again!
I agree that finding another dealer might be a good idea, but possibly katshchamne is in an area like mine - ALL the dealers withing 150 miles are owned by the same group. I don't expect I would have much lick if I went to a "different" dealer. Thea Admiral and I have done at least 300 mil...

Re: Dream Car
If I had the money, there would be a Tesla sedan in my driveway. But I am pretty darn happy with my MINI, and the 40 mpg that goes along with it if it is driven reasonably. I got a chance to do a Tesla test drive, and it is so weird to be able to do a 0-60 mph in the length of an off ramp with no as...

Boy, that didn't take very long!
And a very happy discovery as well. Seems that having the old center stand soil the sheets was, in a weird way, a blessing in disguise for you.

That looks absolutely fabulous! Nice job.
Like so many things, the aggravation on the install will fade, but that look will please you for years.

Re: Georgia riders - need some clarification on the law
In theory, that is how it is in Massachusetts. The dealer told us that anything under 250 was not allowed on "the highway". I'm taking that to mean interstates. I have tried to find the actual law in the state regulations, but man, are they weaselly. I have found no mention of an actual nu...

Re: Hello from New Zealand.
I would second major inconvenience. I assume that you can just get a friendly motorist with jumper cables to give you a boost? I haven't actually looked at the battery to see how big a PITA it would be to get to with conventional (big) jumpers. Or do you call the hook to get it home to your trusty c...

Re: NH Motorcycle Exam
But just south of you, in Massachusetts, if you take your test on a scooter, you have a "limited" motorcycle license and can legally only ride the type of machine that you passed the test on. Since I took the MSF course, I took the test on one of their Honda Nighthawks. My license is good ...

Re: pcx125 ..600mile maintance??
I expect there is a bit more to it... I found this page that briefly described the JASO T903 MB standard: http://www.oilspecifications.org/articles/JASO_MA_JASO_MB.php The two allegedly equivalent oils appear to be fully synthetic. I would try to match the specs exactly, or just fork over the bucks ...

Re: love the way the engine starts
I'm assuming then that, should it fail to turn over, jumping the battery is the only way to get going again? One can push-start an automatic (or you used to be able to anyway), but you have to get 'er going scary fast for it to work.

Re: pcx125 ..600mile maintance??
I had the 600 mile service done by the dealer last week, and darned if I don't think that Mantis is smoother and more quiet. Milage has not seemed to change, but idling and pulling from a stop seem easier. I asked about what they were going to do, and they replied that Honda's first service checklis...

Re: State of the forum - July 2013!
I mentioned a desire to have a duplicate "view New Posts" button at the bottom of the screen awhile ago, and was reminded about hitting the HOME key to jump to the top of the screen. This has been more or less successful, but, being a lazy slug (and on a desktop computer, the antique that ...

Re: Hi Visibiliy and being seen!!
I am simply assuming that I am invisible. The Admiral and I have matching hi-viz helmets (modeled by Scooter-Dog at left), and both have Mil-spec hi-viz vests (mine a Joe Rocket, hers a Fly). There really is not much you can do about distracted or self-absorbed drivers except assume the worst and ri...

If you have nothing worth protecting, well, what the hell. Darwin will take care of it.
