Re: Ordering the wrong helmet

What didn't you like about the helmets you already tried? What shape is your head? (round, oval, long oval, etc.) Crashing a scooter isn't safer than crashing a motorcycle, the ground and telephone poles and other vehicles are just as hard no matter what you ride. Look here--webbikeworld.com for lot...

Re: TAKEGAWA Lowering Heavy-Duty Rear Shock

I have Takegawa lowering shocks. The only reason I got them was to lower the bike. The ride is a bit better than stock shocks. Hitting potholes seems about the same because you still get the jolt from the front.

Re: New PCX 150, just put on Give Shield, need some help, 4/

I have the optional Honda windscreen for the PCX, listed under "accessories" on the Honda website. I had a screen cut once for a different bike, but I took it to a glass shop and had them do it. I don't know if cutting that Givi screen would help or not.

Re: New PCX 150, just put on Give Shield, need some help, 4/

I started out with the Givi 322 but quickly decided it wouldn't work because of the buffeting. Next tried the Givi 323 (tall Givi) which was really nice and kept the PCX from being blown around in the wind, but I'm 5'3" so I couldn't see over the top which made riding in rain dicey. Next was th...

Lots of people tried and hated the Givi 322 because of the buffeting. Are you in the US? I have a Puig I'm not using if you'd like to try it.

Re: Honda PCX-Rebel hybrid

CF Moto build exactly such a beast, the V9 http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/cf_moto_v9_2014.php Previous versions were titled V3, V5 and V7 http://www.scootersus.com/cfmoto.html Thanks for this information. It seems CFMoto no longer sells these bikes in the USA. I found a few CFMoto dealers selling...

Honda PCX-Rebel hybrid

The bike I would really like to see built is the Honda Rebel body with the PCX transmission and brakes. A small, lightweight, low seat height motorcycle lookalike with an easy to use total hand control automatic drive system. Why isn't something like that available?

Re: How far have you rode your scooter?

My longest one day trip was 430 miles, mostly highways. No problems with the PCX. Carried only basics like gas money. Went through one thunderstorm and some rain on and off, but mostly dry weather. Probably wouldn't ever do it again, especially the rain and thunderstorm parts.

Re: Horsepower

mopeds! A classic Whizzer has an engine larger than 50cc but hp less than 5. I assume the Chinese kits that fit bicycles are similar. So my guess it is to cover them? I guess it's possible it would be actual mopeds, but a motorcycle endorsement is required for a class A bike, so that doesn't really...

Re: Horsepower

If you have a regular motorcycle endorsement on your driver's license then the new Indiana laws will have NO effect REGARDLESS of what you ride. The new laws target people who ride without a standard motorcycle endorsement (or driver's license) which can only be done on a 50cc or smaller bike. I ha...

Horsepower

Does anyone know what "braking horsepower" is? New laws going into effect in Indiana are breaking scooters up into classes, and one class is a "motor driven cycle with no more than 5 braking horsepower", but no definition or way to determine braking horsepower is given. My PCX is...

Re: Lowered

I got lowering shocks for the rear plus got my seat cut and plastic welded to lower that, too. I did these things to make it easy for me to have both feet flat on the ground. Is this what you mean by lowering, or are you talking about something else?

Re: best glove combo or mitt for warm hands??

I use sherpa-lined leather mittens with a handwarmer packet in each on the backside of my hands. I can go at least two hours of riding and my hands are still warm. Glove liners don't work for me---too bulky and just don't feel right.
