Re: Won't start

@mymitzi: perhaps you can find a second hand ECM unit on ebay - i see these listed for around 60 to 75 € over here (Belgium). Might be worth the try, if my pcx would have this and 83k I would not risk 500$ for a slim chance it might resolve the issue.

Re: Won't start

Apart from what is stated above (battery) - check as what is stated in the SM for when the MIL light does not come on:

That is basically the only thing I could find in the SM about the MIL not coming on. Hope it helps.

Oh and this but it refers to the image above:

Re: 2010 vs 2022

My 2016 PCX was getting old as in: * speedometer died again - switched the sensor with a new one but it turned out to be the wires to the sensors which were all broken somewhere behind the airbox (able to fix it myself though) * ball head bearings really needs to be replaced (work in progress) I gue...

Re: Check up - how often

Change the oil no matter what each year - coolant perhaps every 3 years I reckon. Brake fluid - well SM states every 2 years ... could be longer though just keep an eye out for the color of the brake fluid.

Re: Strange behavior speedometer

I know it's an old topic but still - update: speedometer died again 8 months ago with the same symptoms (needle going to all places and finally it simply died). Replaced the sensor as before - should have checked continuity for the cables as the SM says before replacing but hey simply replacing work...

Re: No idea as to why headlights became dimmer

Honestly I have no idea - I have an LED version and even if I would have the non-LED version I would have to check myself on the bike. But anyhow here is the wiring diagram from the SM. Basically I would check every wire going to the headlight for resistance.

Re: 2012 PCX150 Valve Adjustment

Oh something like this? It took me only ~24hrs to fetch my valve adjustment tool out of my toolbox, take this picture, upload it and place it in this response. valve adjust tool.jpg Now let me go and look for my caliper :| Patience is a virtue - wait am I on 'insta' board ?!? Re: No idea as to why headlights became dimmer

I have no idea what amps the fuse is rated as I have the LED version but: dimmer light and more yellow (lower CCT value) indicates to me that the current is being limited. 2 things you could do: 1) check voltage at light bulb - if you have a significant voltage drop compared to what the voltage is a...

Maintenance SH vs. PCX (panel removal)

Currently I have a PCX and have been doing all my maintenance myself for the past 4 years in which I collected around 40 000 kms on the odometer. While the PCX is still going strong I am looking into getting an SH125i. Biggest issue I have with the PCX is panel removal for anything involving mainten...

Re: Master fuse to cut all power to scooter?

Edit: Is there a way to test for power draw while the bike is off with a multimeter? Like testing voltage of battery or another mode to use with a multimeter that could tell me if there is indeed something that's drawing power while the bike is switched off? Disconnect one wire from the battery, pu...

Re: pcx engine rattle when rolling off thtrottle

Another option is the cam chain tensioner? That would sound metallic but as it had the noise when you bought it at 800 miles - that would be something for a cam chain tensioner to be faulty that early o_O . Also, at idle you should be hearing the noise if that would be the case... Anyhow, it's not a...

I have one of those PCXs who have gotten a recall letter, here on the Belgium website of honda you can fill in your VIN (https://www.fl.honda.be/motorcycles/owners/maintenance/recalls-and-updates.html ) and find out if yours is affected as well. Probably, wherever you are located, there is a similar...

Anytime that I’m disassembling something that is important to go back the same way, I take pictures before, during and after the disassembling… Helps a lot So far I called it a night last night because I'm having a ton of trouble getting the new tire onto the rim. Re: Front Wheel Removal (and reinstall)

Is it as simple as unscrewing the two bolts on each side of the fork and pulling the axle out enough for the wheel to come out? That's what I assume but want to make sure. Yes it is that simple, what I did when I removed the front wheel to install a new brake disc was to put my toolbox under the sc...

Re: How many miles do you have on your PCX

The K66 comes in two flavors, "all season" and "winter" - I use the all season type - winter type is, according to my local tire supply shop, way too soft. Of course when it's freezing I slow down and if the roads have frozen mist/fog I take the longer (and slower) route to work,...
