Re: Chaining up your PCX Properly

I figured out that threading the chain above / in front of the left rear shock and locking it to a rear spoke keeps it off the ground. This should avoid dog pee and maybe those sledgehammer + anvil attacks that presumably only happen in Abus / Kryptonite ads. It's a bit of a pain though, not sure I'...

Chaining up your PCX Properly

I just moved to a neighborhood where most motorbikes parked on the street are chained up. I like to make my scooter more difficult to steal than the competition, so I bought a massive Kryptonite loop chain & U-lock. I've looped the chain around a solid railing and can now use the small U-lock to...

Re: New-to-me PCX in Portugal

Mhm, beautiful Cascais. I've been to Portugal, especially Lisboa countless times. You should ride up to Cabo da Roca from Cascais. Awesome street and views. It's about 20 km from there via Praia do Guincho. Nice tip! We made it to Guincho but stopped there - was a lot of work in the wind. Definitel...

Re: New-to-me PCX in Portugal

If the roads are a bit rough you might consider changing out the shocks for adjustable ones... Thanks for the tip! I'm sure the comfort could be improved, though I'm mostly thinking about safety / traction with the road surfaces. Rough cobbles on a steep hill between narrow winding tram tracks with...

Re: Vibrating / Rattling Sound at while moving at low RPM

Thanks for all the feedback. I took the bike to the Honda mechanic, who identified a vibration on the glove box (foam padding a bit worn down). I definitely brought it in for a more mechanical sounding thing (ie: metal not chassis), but he didn't notice anything unusual, so I guess that settles it f...

Re: Vibrating / Rattling Sound at while moving at low RPM

Thanks for the replies guys. I bought the scooter very recently 2nd hand from an individual, so the more dramatic options are limited. I did not notice the issue during my test drive and really think I would have, but who knows. I did notice it after a couple hundred km. I have no reason to believe ...

New-to-me PCX in Portugal

After a month or two of evaluating my options I finally got myself a PCX. I test rode the new model and chased local classifieds for used bikes for a while. In the end I bought a 2017 matte grey model with about 5500km on it and a year of warranty left. It came with a top box, which I consider about...

Vibrating / Rattling Sound at while moving at low RPM

My recently purchased 2017 PCX (~6000 km) is making a bit of a vibrating / rattling noise. This generally only happens while it's moving and I'm revving the engine slightly. It seems to come from under / behind me, so I don't think it's in the headstock / front wheel, but I can't be sure. There's no...

Re: When the fuel gauge starts to blink..

Scoot won't start when im about to leave home, so I have no choice but to rely on a coke bottle. That leafy funnel is amazing  My Yamaha Nouvo once choked going up the ramp of a basement parking garage. It took me a moment to realize I had run out of gas. I didn't really consider any other opt...

Re: New (ABS!) vs. Used - First bike in Portugal

Thanks for the suggestions / feedback everyone. With respect to getting a bigger bike - the Forza looks nice, but the cost exacerbates the money-on-the-sidewalk issue. It's also heavier than I'm used to and feels like it deserves a bigger engine, license permitting. If I had a parking space and a bi...

New (ABS!) vs. Used - First bike in Portugal

Hi all, first time poster here. I recently moved to Lisbon, Portugal and want to get a PCX for cruising around town / weekend excursions. My wife will ride on the back pretty regularly. We test drove the brand new model at the dealer yesterday. Would have loved a little more power for tackling hills...
