Re: new pcx owner

I saw in another forum that user Homie was sharing 2013 service manuals which was allowed by the moderator although they still decided to lock the thread. Is there any recommendations on how to obtain that, or how to contact that user? It seems I do not have the permission to message people directl...

Re: filled coolant entirely from reserve tank, how to bleed

I bled the radiator again and put everything back together. Filled reserve and took two short drives. No change at all in reserve levels. i think I'm set! Thanks for the help! :)

Re: filled coolant entirely from reserve tank, how to bleed

If you burped the throttle to rev the engine a few times when it was steaming and appearing to circulate Note this is the critical part. Don't be gentle, get it hot & burp the throttle to rev the engine enough to make the water pump forcefully circulate and get trapped air out. Thank you for em...

Re: filled coolant entirely from reserve tank, how to bleed

1. Is it safe to assume that it is bleed properly if I did not see any bubbles? 2. I know the coolant has some rust inhibitors in it, so is it 'fine' that some of it spilled out onto the sides of the radiator and onto other parts? I was not sure if I should removed the side panel and radiator cover...

Re: filled coolant entirely from reserve tank, how to bleed

To confirm, you mean pinch the connection tube that goes to the radiator from the reserve tank? Affirmative. I mean to pinch the small diameter tube going from the radiator cap to the reserve tank. well, I tried the binder clip on the hose, it didn't hold tight enough (should have used a vice grips...

Re: filled coolant entirely from reserve tank, how to bleed

Thanks. To get back to the point where I am topping off the radiator only, how would you proceed with draining the reserve tank? My first impression is to simply open the radiator cap entirely and catch what I can below the scoot. Then, follow the topping off and bleeding instructions as I should h...

Re: filled coolant entirely from reserve tank, how to bleed

OK understood. But really, I’d remove the radiator cap and ensure the radiator is full before proceeding. Do a search on “ coolant change “ or similar and read up on related issues and how to proceed. Here’s one thread ..... http://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=5706&p=79603&hili...

Re: Overfilled my coolant reservoir

I just drained and refilled the coolant myself and also over filled it. I have a 2013 so it is past the high mark in the resovoir tank. I was wondering why it is necessary to remove the excess like the OP did. I am guessing I will pipette it out. Having a little over in the reservoir shouldn't be a...

Re: filled coolant entirely from reserve tank, how to bleed

I loosened the radiator cap after pouring most of a Honda coolant bottle into the reserve tank and it started leaking from the radiator cap location so it certainly seems like it did pass into the system, but I definitely appreciate the caution about that. If I need to completely remove the radiator...

filled coolant entirely from reserve tank, how to bleed air?

So I messed up and filled the entire coolant system from the reserve tank. I then realized I should have filled radiator first and ran it with the radiator cap off to bleed the air. My question now is how do I bleed the system? Taking the radiator cap off now causes a leak from the reserve tank. Doe...

I read every comment on this thread but have not noticed anyone recommending a brand of oil? Any preferences on brands, or simply meet the requirements in the owners manual?

Thanks for the warm welcome and feedback! I may have misunderstood the consensus regarding the manuals, but I can understand your viewpoint! You make a good point that this forum appears to have good instructions for most anything I would plan to do. I need to order a helmet, I need to search the fo...

Nice pictures! I have read in multiple threads that shocks are a welcome improvement. I have not put enough miles on mine to notice a need for a change, but I imagine I will get there soon enough!

Re: Duplicate key for my 2015 PCX

I just replaced my shutter assembly since I need 2 keys. My bike had only 1 key when I purchased it. Shutter kit cost around 25.00 bucks with 2 keys. Just go to locksmith copied the keys and switched out the shutter assembly. The longest part was to remove plastics to get to shutter assembly. Could...

new pcx owner

Hello everyone. I just bought a 2013 pcx 150 this weekend and it is my first two wheeled vehicle. It does have some scratches :( but the mileage is pretty low at around 1700. Going to do an oil change this weekend as the owner apparently used energy conserving oil previously. Hopefully that didn't n...

Re: 2012 PCX150 prestige Black/Red parts

I am new to the forum and found this helpful. In combination with another post, it seems that some people will simply purchase new panels rather than trying to repair the damage. Since the repair paints are probably 1-component chemistry, I am guessing that they would fade in the sunlight if the rep...
