Pressure?

Hi everyone.

As a matter of interest to all those riders on the PSX150 with wider tires/tyres, what cold pressure do you all run on front and rear?

Re: Top Box ...

Glad to see that the Rigg seat bag is getting some positive attention here... When expanded, it surprised me on how much it can hold. But the most important features are that it has zero effect on handling as there is NO weight hanging BEHIND the rear wheel and it doesn't seem to be disturbed by cro...

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?

I agree Mel. The NCY combo seems to be the best bang for the buck, definitely. For a 153cc scooter the performance is very good with just the three NCY parts installed. Going further seems a bit of a wasted effort generally, although a big bore kit is also a future possibility for those that require...

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?

No Mel, that is incorrect. I weighed both the stock Honda PCX plate and the NCY product. The NCY was lighter. [When tuning, I leave nothing to chance. :D ] Yes K2, I also set my Koso like yours, through trial and error. Generally, I have found that the NCY products are lighter than stock parts. Howe...

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?

Sorry mates, been damn busy here. Firstly, the Koso Tach.. I had the same problems finding the correct setting. I ran the Pulley sliders on the PCX and gave them a hard time on several runs on the freeway and around town. They are very good, they allow very quick stop light derby starts and pull har...

Re: TechPulley / Flying Pulley II

Interesting concept. However, if those stabilizing side "wings" broke off it may create problems ...I guess it depends on how well they have tested them in the factory.

Sliders overturning? Hmm, Never heard of that before though.

I'll have to get a set and try them out.

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?

I have checked the NCY variator a few times now during the testing that I have been doing Mel. So far, there is no evidence of wear on the surfaces using the Pulley sliders, but of course, I have only done fairly low mileage on them. As you know, it only takes a few minutes to take the variator off ...

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?

I have a rubber strap wrench, but it wasn't very effective in holding the plate.

I will wedge the NCY with a wooden block when I pull the variator apart next time, or use the Thai method of a small socket as a wedge.

I fitted the Koso mini tach yesterday and it works, so more testing to follow.....

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?

I have fitted new tires, Pirelli Diablo's. 100-90-14 front, 120-80-14 rear. The rear tire is really a front reversed for better wet grip. The rear tire was a bit of a bitch to get onto the rim, but in the end, I won. Also fitted the new NCY full kit today with Pulley sliders. The kit has a black spr...

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?

I must get a Koso mini tacho to see my engine revs.

That way it won't be so much guesswork involved.

K2...I have yet to weigh the NCY clutch bell but it looks heavier than the stocker.

Let us know how the change to lighter sliders go, please.

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?

I squeezed a run in on the freeway yesterday between a couple of heavy downpours of rain, just had to see if the Pulley sliders were good or not. Take off in traffic after lane splitting to the front of the cars at the lights was great, only the very determined driver in a hot turbo could hold me. O...

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?

@ K2 and Mel, etc..

Looks like we are all on the same page.

So the NCY rollers have worn the teflon away in the variator.

Very interesting.

Not really what I expected with no flat spots on the rollers, K2.

Now you are running Pulley sliders and no teflon, correct?

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?

Hmm, like you, I have a very limited amount of free play in my twist grip. I prefer it that way. Just as long as the revs don't rise when I full turn the handlebars and there is the slightest amount of FREE play in the throttle suits me best. Old racer habit, I guess... :D My concern is not the tefl...

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?

Finally received the sets of 13G Dr. Pulley sliders this afternoon, so I wasted no time in removing the NCY rollers and installing the sliders in the NCY variator. After I assembled all the parts and buttoned it all up, I went for a quick ride around just to see how it felt and performed. Well, thos...

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?

I've done a couple of hundred kilometers with the NCY and 13G rollers on the PCX now. The vibration has lessened at idle, and the extra performance is nice. I'm still waiting on the Dr Pulley 13G sliders though, postage from overseas is pretty slow. I received the full NCY kit from the NCY guys and ...

Re: Top Box ...

I can remove the seat bag easily by lifting the seat on the PCX. Then my wife can ride pillion to the cafe with me.

Mostly though, I ride alone, which means that the Rigg Bag sits happily behind me on the pillion seat.

No top box needed. :D
