Re: Is this a rectifier issue?

The battery isnt "dead" if its putting out 12v. What are the symptoms of dead? No dash lights or other signs if life? Or it just wont start? Yeah, didn't give enough power to start, odometer light goes off if it tried to start the engine.. Horn only gives very small amount of noise, signa...

Re: Is this a rectifier issue?

Is the new battery the type where you have to add the acid first, or is it a sealed unit? Secondly, to you have the means to charge a battery on the bench? It's a seal type MF battery(it's gel right?), I just checked its multimeter reading and it was around 12.06V, and the old battery was 11.56V......

Re: Is this a rectifier issue?

If you are getting a charge of 14 the regulator is fine, sounds like the battery…Take it out and take it to any auto parts store and have them do a load test, not to be confused with the voltage test. Did a load test, that battery has failed.. or that's what he said :/ Good luck. Let us know how it...

Re: Is this a rectifier issue?

May be worth checking the AC volts (not DC) at the battery as the rectifier may still be faulty - if one of the diodes has failed. Bulbs can blow if stessed and over-voltaged, not sure they would fail if the volts drop low as often bulbs last much longer is under-driven. Good luck. Hmmm.. I also ha...

Re: Is this a rectifier issue?

Not sure why four lights have died in a few months if the battery is getting old and low It's clearly a battery issue I guess, probably my brake light had died which I didn't notice until I lost 3 headlights, then after replacing the dead break light, it fixed the issue of killing other bulbs maybe...

Is this a rectifier issue?

My battery has died for the 4th time, 3 times after washing the bike on the previous day.. recent one was just without even getting itself wet :/ I have 3 headlights died recently and 1 brake light within recent 2 months.. This morning I plugged the battery, it was around 12.06V, after the ignition ...

Re: Brake Pads

There are wear indicators for both front and rear brakes; the front ones have a line drawn on the pad, and the rear ones have a mark on the actuating lever at the rear (check it with the brake engaged). Both are mentioned in the user manual. My bike is at 32,200km and still on original pads with pl...

Re: Hazard lights won't switch off

Hazard lights in the UK refer to lights you put on in an emergency, ie all 4 indicator lights flashing,I think you are referring to daylight running lights If so, my PCX has no hazard lights :( The hazard switch was added to the UK (europe) LED 2014/5 version, probably to be EU friendly and meeting...

Re: Is it important to replace Diaphragms?

Mine were like that, so after bleeding several times the traditional way, I drained the front (could not be bothered to take the broken inner panels for the CBS off again!) and reverse bled the front brake system pushing fluid in with a syringe and sucking fluid out of the top reservoir and that mu...

Re: Is it important to replace Diaphragms?

I recently changed the brake caliper hence drained the front and CBS reservoirs and used original seals, diaphram and any crush washers. No issues at all.The diaphram after 4 years+ and removing a few times (issues bleeding the system) was in perfect condition and flexible, so don't worry about it....

Re: Hazard lights won't switch off

At the beginning he says Hazard lights won't switch off, and then he says hazard lights switch off when the ignition is off... Maybe he is looking for a way to switch off hazard lights manually when they are not being used such as at noon? :S Isn't PCX has on lights, which by defaults the hazard lig...

Re: Honda PCX Instrument Panel SMD LED

Good fix, as a new panel (not Ebay 2nd) costs a lot! yeah, I would never replace that part just because of an LED anyway.. You're a man on a mission! I don't think I've spent 14 hours straight on anything. Ever. Hope it all works out for you. It should, given your tenacity. Hope it will last for a ...
