April 9 2019 I noticed it as I opened the throttle wide open over 50 mph. Since then I have been experimenting with wal-mart injector cleaner. I use pure gasoline 99% of the time.easyrider wrote:At what speed (mph) do you feel the bucking, stuttering ?

occasional cutting out under open throttle, fuel starvation
I am experiencing occasional cutting out, like running out of fuel under wide open throttle.
Since my PCX is a 2013 model, what would I need to do to gain access to the fuel tank to clean it and replace any existing fuel filter on the scooter ? Thank You.

About cogged belts: they were developed more for commercial hvac air handlers. Why ?
They discovered that one, they run cooler, and two, they save a little energy. So their life is a little longer.

Re: Upgraded spark plug for PCX?
When I worked for mechanical contractors, we had to watch steam fittings, and used a lot of never seize to protect threads on steam pipes for many years. There are some manufacturers that recommend not using it, but I personally always paint clean threads on spark plugs (and many other things) with ...

Re: has there been any1 on this forum who had a motor go bad
I lost a motor in 2018. A local shop rebuilt it for me. Motor seemed to lock up for lack of oil, but I could have sworn that I had kept track of it. One odd thing about my 2013 model: I have a leftover hospital cup with Metric markings on it and I can measure 800 cc's of oil exact ! After a change I...

144 mpg is an honest number. RPM of the motor (or how you drive determines variation) AT 60 mph the mileage can drop to 82 mpg !

Re: Using 0-20w oil PCX 150 in the tropics
In car motors, as we have gone from single weight oils to 10W30 to 5W30 to 0W30 and now 0W20. Here are my thoughts. The car manufacturers actually changed or redesigned the clearances on connecting rods and the crankshafts on automobile engines. Most of this is good. (better fuel economy, quicker st...

Re: How long can the battery last without being started?
Since the gel and glass mat batteries entered the market, things are slightly different. With the exception of the longtime Japanese king Yuasa, Here is the latest: standard lead acid batteries, (and really all other brothers and sisters) sulfate rapidly, hence, our use of ''battery savers'' and res...

I'm no electrical engineer, but increasing the power draw by nearly 60% might put a stress on the wiring? I'll bet the nice man is right about the "brighter light" though. ======================================================================================================== To answer yo...

Re: Amp draw when starting
Curious if anyone knows approx amp draw when starting the pcz150. A friend had his battery go dead and needed a jump to get home. Thinking of making a mini set of jumper cables to have just in case. If amp draw is small enough that cables could possibly be made of lamp cord. Just thinking since the...

Re: How to: Oil Change for Honda PCX
Hi everyone, I was wondering what type of oil you put in your PCX? There are some brands that are specific towards 4-stroke, water cooled motorcycles, "forumlated with clutch saving technology." Is this brand of oil good for the PCX? Or should I stay away from motorcycle oil and stick wit...

Re: New Owner, possibly some problems
I have taken both of our 2013 PCX 150s apart so many times now that I can strip it down to the frame in an hour. It really is a fun bike. I put the tall Givi windshield on them because we wanted to enjoy riding them without worrying about the wind knocking us off of them. Just FYI, the 2013 model i...

Re: Advice for anti theft
Just a couple of ideas. I like really heavy chains and locks for psychological effect. I also use a disk brake lock which I had used earlier on a 500 Ninja Kawasaki I owned when I don't trust a neighborhood. A thief has to ask himself if he is going to bring an acetylene torch when he sees a HEAVY C...

Re: New Owner, possibly some problems
Latest Update: Last month I gave my local private motorcycle repair shop the "go ahead" to rebuild my 2013 Honda PCX150 motor and install a Givi top rack. Diagnosis ? I must have run the scooter with very low or with diminished oil level. Embarrassing for me because I have changed oil and ...

Re: How-To: Oil Change For Honda PCX
The suggestion on changing hot oil is based on this. Dirt in its various form is often tiny, ( in microns) and in suspension (when warm). You drive the vehicle so the oil is hotter and so that when you pull the drain plug, MORE of the dirt flows out, quickly. Doesn't mean that you can't change oil c...

Having a bad day
I just lost my motor on my 2013 Honda PXC 150 scooter. Pretty sure it failed because of low oil level. Honda Powersports does not seem to sell a direct replacement engine/assembly as such. So if any of you have dealt with this, tell me how you handled it. I have a good private motorcycle shop that c...

Re: PCX the USA from one end to the other anyone?
Interesting discussion. My take: You can probably ride a 50cc bike across the country, (if you don't burn it out) but climbing a hill at 25 mph in a 50 cc bike is not a thrill ! The PCX 150 would do much better, but when traveling at higher speeds on the interstate it is the ability to keep up with ...

I own a 12 volt 11/2 / 0.75 amp charger with a cigarette lighter male end. Very useful. Just keep in mind that car and most motorcycle female cigarette lighter recepticles are powered through the accessory position only. This is to keep you from running a radio or DVD player all night long killing a...
