Re: 1st experience w variator changeout at do it yourself sh
I have one of those units. I continually had problems with the contacts. After riding around on uneven roads for a little while the lights would start flickering again. Eventually I yanked the connectors, added my own connector, ran it through the hole to its mate under the rack, tied the excess up...

Re: 1st experience w variator changeout at do it yourself sh
I suppose in the interest of tinkering, IMHO I have no other idea why anyone would mess with the drive line with anything aftermarket. Honda does a lot of engineering to obtain the best performance for utilizing available torque and horsepower. Is it worth getting a few more MPH for this urban desi...

Re: 1st experience w variator changeout at do it yourself sh
Question, It appears that when the rear tire is removed, (for brake service or tire replacement) are there any bearings in the wheel time itself ? I have never removed the rear tire.

Re: For your consideration
If you gain something by adjusting the CVT you will lose something else. I had some problems with the rear replacement clutch kit on an NYC kit not fitting. What is your view about the rear clutch? Is it simpler just to remain with the original Honda clutch ? or is there a better after market choic...

Re: Problem with new NCY variator/clutch kit. Or just me?
I think the op had been sent the wrong part since this thread is 3 weeks old and he's since posted. I got my NCY super transmission kit directly from Taiwan and had no such problems. The best thing about the kit is the rear pulley has their own bearings and that completely did away with the 2013 PC...

Re: Is too much engine oil dangerous?
I follow the oil level recommendations to the under drop on all my cars and my previous Ninja 500. I just can't get over not seeing oil low on my original Honda PCX engine, and losing the engine. It didn't make any sense.relic wrote:Why overfill? full is full just like tight is tight and enough is enough.

:? So I have been planning for the variator changeout on my 2013 Honda PCX150 for a year. I rounded up or purchased recommended tools, I purchased an extra Rigid impact wrench. I then purchased the NCY Super Transmission set #1200-1195 and the 13 gram rollers # 1200-1191 from Scooterdomain.com out ...

Re: Problem with new NCY variator/clutch kit. Or just me?
I can get everything in place but the clutch assembly doesn't seat all they way and when I torque it down even part of the way, it locks up the wheel. After inspection I compared it to my original clutch assembly and it looks totally wrong! See the picture. Do all NCY clutch assemblies for the pcx1...

OK, so you are saying that all NCY scooter kits ARE NOT THE SAME ! What the hell ! So now what are people like me (and others reading this)
supposed to do ? Corsport is the outfit with NO PHONE # and doesn't answer E-mails. I tried to purchase the kit through them !

Re: Is too much engine oil dangerous?
If oil overfilled, excess can be blown out the breather and clog the airfilter. Always measure with the dipstick resting on the threads, do not screw it in to check the level. Thank you for this comment. I had been looking in the manual for this detail and wasn’t able to find it. August 14, 2019 I ...

Re: has there been any1 on this forum who had a motor go bad
I bought a 2013 PCX150 largely stored, with 7 miles on it in 2018.
I checked the oil dipstick normally, thought the oil was fine. It seized up, I assume because of a lack of oil at about 4,000 miles. puzzlement
I had it rebuilt with stock Honda parts.

Re: Is too much engine oil dangerous?
I purchased a 2013 PCX150 in 2018 with only 7 actual miles on it. Somehow even though I was VERY sure the oil was correct on the dipstick, the motor seized up three months after I began driving it around. odd I had it rebuilt at a independent cycle shop. The Honda scooter booklets call for 800 ml or...

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?
I am planning on changing my 2013 PCX variator in August. Several questions: Is there any special attention the rear wheel or clutch on the rear, needs ? On the NYC site, they list both a complete super transmission set for $259.00 and they list a secondary slider part # 1200-1194 for $135.00 What d...

headlight replacement
I am looking for an eventual LED headlight replacement for my current 2013 PCX150.
Just some thing that fits without modifications, and is neither so bright, that other cars flash their high beams at me, when it is on low beam, but yet a little brighter than stock.
I prefer something that lasts.

Tire pressure monitoring sensors
I have already had a couple of slow leaks and a flat on my 2013 PCX150.
Question to all of you: Can one add a tpms (tire pressure monitoring system) to the rear of the PCX-150 like on a car ?
It would give me greater reassurance each day, before heading out on a 30 mile journey.

Re: occasional cutting out under open throttle, fuel starvat
Maybe the injector has a bit of skunge it it? MY auto mechanic nephew swears by Techron, a fuel additive. I used it in my snowblower (admittedly a MUCH simpler engine), and it seemed to help. IT would be $7 gamble, and I don't believe it would hurt anything. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1...
