Re: Need Help Honda PCX 2016 Tire Size - Need Wider Size Tire

You can run same size front and rear but I would recommend running a larger rear. Gives a more stable ride at speed.

Re: Rear brake totally slack??

How worn were the shoes when you removed the rear wheel? Check to see if the cable is seated properly in the holder where it threads thru the mount on the swing arm.

Re: I added a light weight Lithium LIFEPO4 battery (2022 PCX)

Personally, I prefer original battery. Still have my original Factory Battery in my 2017, never trickle charged and sometimes sits for months without starting. To say Lithium is a performance mod is a stretch. You will never see faster acceleration or better top speed. Might maintain a steadier volt...

Re: Reduced top speed and lowered mpg

How many miles are on the Bike? Did he replace the rollers with stock weight or go heavier/lighter? As for the MPG. If you are getting 25.7MPL/116MPG, I would not be complaining. Thats incredible. Loss of 10mpg when you used to get 127 is not a lot. That can change between fill ups just by being mor...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap

I literally spent 6 months mixing/matching, and fine tuning my Honda Metro every single day on the way to and from work. I learned a TON about CVT tuning and applied that to my PCX. How I discovered that 10.25g weights give me the optimal acceleration, but still got full belt travel. Ideally you wan...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap

Mark the Variator with a Sharpie and see if you are getting full belt travel. You have to determine that before moving forward. If you are getting full travel, then turn down the Variator/Driveface. If you are not getting full belt travel, then go heavier on weights. If you still don't get full belt...

I wouldnt consider this so much a performance mod. Are you saying the couple Lbs shaved from the battery make it faster?

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap

Given the smaller 13" rear wheel, I would assume that you would need taller gearing (larger diameter Stock Variator) vs the 14" rear wheel with the older models. That would explain why the older model Variators lower the top speed.... Like emax22 said. , 127mm, vs the pre 2021 120mm Mon-Ey...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap

Ahhh I see what you did to modify the stock driveface.. lol Didn't even notice at first. So my idea behind the belt being too short is that if its too short, the belt is not riding all the way to the edge of the Driveface.. Use a Sharpie Marker and mark up the faces and then go run it. Post some pic...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap

I wonder if you have to run a longer belt in order to take advantage of the Polini Variator. Maybe Polini sells a Polini belt to compliment it.

I have a question. Which one is Stock and which one is Polini? Im guessing Left is Polini?

Re: honda pcx help

Its a small light scooter. If you are trying to ride 50mph+ majority of the you probably got the wrong size scooter.

a 250cc+ is what you need.

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap

Surly though the polini kit should just work out the box and be fully optimised for the best top speed capable with the power the pcx has and the rollers and contra spring being optimised to keep the engine spinning around the 6.5k ish rpm Mark. I been tuning scooters for 15+ years and nothing real...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap

I run 10.25G Dr Pulley sliders in my NCY Variator. (61.5G total) I would say run the stock contra Spring and run the 10G rollers in the Polini. If you get your top speed back, but you lose acceleration what you can start to do is lighten 4 roller weights at a time. 0.5g from 4 rollers. until you reg...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap

Going to 8 weights as opposed to 6 like the stock Variator, you will have to go for non- OEM size weights. If you run 10g weights that's: 80G total If stock is 14g that is: 84g total in 6 weights... If that Contra spring is stiffer than stock, you need to go even heavier than stock. Chances are you ...

Re: 2024 Honda PCX Preview. By "Motorcyclist"

I see that the linked article said the clutch type was “Wet, multiplate slipper/assist”, which is obviously incorrect. When I see inaccuracies such as that it makes me question the rest of the article. That was the first thing I noticed. Start to lose credibility. I really don't like the different ...

Re: PCX 160 ABS works at what speed?

I dont believe any ABS system is speed dependant. It's usually activated when the front wheel is spinning slower (slipping) than the rear wheel where the speedometer senser is located. You can be going 10mph and you do a hard brake and the front wheel started to lock up which is when the ABS will pu...
