Re: For those of you who have "Cheeky Seats" seat covers....

Just removing the 'hump' and putting on the seat cover would work, but for me was uncomfortable. I have a 2013 PCX, when I bought it I was 5'-11" (age is a terrible thing). I ended up taking off the seat cover material and padding foam, removed the posts that the hump bolts to, and covering whe...

The pieces arrowed in the picture are collectively called the slide piece set. (According to the OEM parts breakdown on Partzilla, shown here: https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda ... drive-face).

Re: Sticking centre stand

1. Remove the spring. 2. Remove the split pin - The split pin (part #11 in the diagram) needs to be straightened out, then pulled out the hole. 3. Now the tension is removed from the center stand by removing the spring, the main stand shaft (part # 3 in the diagram) is removed. (If 'stuck', tap it o...

Re: Sticking centre stand

Oh, I see. Being close to the road I thought it would be caused by the gradual penetration of dirt from over the rainy months. Clearly not. I see there are various sizes of split pins out there. Do you know the size i need, please? The Split (or Cotter) pin is 3.0mm x 28mm long. The Honda OEM part ...

Re: Sticking centre stand

When I bought my used 2013 PCX, the center stand was in rough shape. I was going to remove it, clean it up and re-paint it, but found a replacement here in the US was less than 20 USD. In the end I bough the stand, shaft, spring and rubber stop. I believe the workshop manual requires you to use lith...

Re: Do You Play? An instrument

Bought a Fender Strat (Candy Apple red) and a Deluxe Reverb at the Soho Soundhouse in London around '82. It replaced the Hagstrom Swede I had.
Haven't really played much in years.

Fisherman's Memorial

There's been some miserable weather around here over the last few days. Last Saturday was a Nor'easter, and yesterday was a clipper system - lots of rain/wind. Sunday was at least clear - and in the 50's. The lighthouse is Point Judith (also a Coast Guard station), the 'hump' not on the seat was a W...

Re: DO you really dislike shifting?

Along with the PCX, I have a Yamaha SR400. I enjoy riding both, and like the 'retro' look of the SR. As I don't really think about shifting, I'd say it doesn't bother me :| I would have to say that with my wife as a pillion passenger, she prefers the "security" of the PCX (there's a top bo...

Re: Hello from Rhode Island

I acquired my PCX in the fall last year from a dealer in Groton CT, wouldn't say it was the best deal, but the right time and the right place. I rode her home through Mystic, Westerly etc. - a real nice ride. That's the same dealership where I bought mine! I've been going there for years. Nice plac...
