Re: New rider here, some basic questions about the 2017 PCX1

It's funny because under 50mph the small scooter can get out of the way faster than the motorcycle. It's slower, yet it can dive right or left to avoid objects MUCH faster. Maybe it's because of my beginner skills, I don't know. They can. Until you master counter-steering the maneuverability of the...

Re: New rider here, some basic questions about the 2017 PCX1

Test drove a CTX700 DCT today. It was much faster than the PCX 150, but honestly I don't think it's worth the extra $2500 plus increased monthly insurance cost of $48 per month. I'm going to test drive the PCX 150 again, probably this Tuesday, I'll let you guys know what I get. It's funny because un...

Hello there Trevor, welcome to our forum(s)! :) Glad you registered and that you're getting great feedback from members to your questions. My only input at this time, is to ask you to enter your location to your profile. Yes, you did mention Arizona but I'm betting that most of us will never rememb...

Re: New rider here, some basic questions about the 2017 PCX1

I found the solution!!!!!!! I didn't know Honda even made these! I don't want to shift, I just want to cruise etc, I'm sure this will get me over 55mph if needed, 670cc engine. It's only a couble grand $ more than the PCX 150. http://www.northvalleyhonda.com/default.asp?page=xNewInventoryDetail&...

Re: New rider here, some basic questions about the 2017 PCX1

You should work for Honda selling these things lol! Thanks for that info my friend, I can't wait to get mine. It was really fun, and to be honest I wouldn't trust myself on anything faster, I'd probably kill myself taking a turn too fast. I'm gonna get the PCX and just stick to the areas that I cur...

Re: New rider here, some basic questions about the 2017 PCX1

How many miles can you get out of these things, like do they often break down after 40-50,000 miles? Can it last years? I know maintenance is paramount here, so it will be brought in for service regularly. That was a question on my mind when I bought too. I'm at 32,000km now and it's still going as...

Re: New rider here, some basic questions about the 2017 PCX1

106 F? Please post your location! 62-65 mph is pretty much ball to the wall. I'll go an exit or two (three, maybe five miles) on a posted 55 mph road (where folks are going 60-65) but no way will I go on an interstate. 50 mph is fine for as far as you want to go, but the PCX just LOVES going 40-45 ...

Re: New rider here, some basic questions about the 2017 PCX1

I have to seriously thank all of you for the incredible advice and wealth of knowledge. I just came from the same dealer, asked them if I could drive it around a bit. I was surprised they even let me because I don't have a motorcycle license. He came out with me on a ATV lol it was funny. It was rea...

Re: New rider here, some basic questions about the 2017 PCX1

Nice points, so true. I regularly train for self defense shooting (my hobby-guns) and I always look at my surroundings and feel out the area. I know that sounds paranoid, but trust me I got out of a lot of jams and hairy situations by just knowing what can happen and avoiding it. BTW I still can't b...

Re: New rider here, some basic questions about the 2017 PCX1

Hi Trevor, I'm 5'7 340lbs, how well will this Scooter move me along? Short answer: "just fine". By my calculations your weight is about 155kg - more than mine, but not by a huge margin. Add that to the weight of the bike (both weights need to be accelerated and braked) and there wouldn't ...

Re: New rider here, some basic questions about the 2017 PCX1

The scoot will barely do 65 MPH on the Highway, if conditions permit. I just ride on the slow lane and try to draft some bigger vehicles. The scoot is suited for city riding and 50-55 MPH roads. I only hesitate to take it into the highway when it's a windy day, unless it's a tailwind. It's the perf...

Ok cool, I probably overlooked that fuel gauge when the rep turned the key to show me the under seat storage.

Re: New rider here, some basic questions about the 2017 PCX1

I forgot to ask, what's the difference between the 2017 model and 2018? The rep at the dealer said "nothing". How many miles can you get out of these things, like do they often break down after 40-50,000 miles? Can it last years? I know maintenance is paramount here, so it will be brought ...

New rider here, some basic questions about the 2017 PCX150

Hello folks! I'm going to a training course here in Arizona that has several motorcycles/scooters, they qualify you and give you a certification for the DMV to get your license. I've rode a small 49cc Scooter in Bermuda around 6 years ago and it never left my mind how fun it was! Even though it was ...
