Re: 2018 Honda PCX Performance
Don't buy that unit though. I have seen people use resistors inline with the temperature sensor. I have never looked into it, but it might be that easy. Roger that - thanks. EFI has its significant benefits, but (unlike a carb) a lot of its actual workings are a mystery to me. If there was a simpli...

Re: Crush washers
Sheeez, it's just a washer we're talking about. If it's not there- big deal - the oil needs to seep past 6 or 8 coils of bolt thread and the bolt's head fastened against the pan to even make the the smallest drip. If you want, just put some gasket sealer - or cut a washer from a piece of cardboard o...

Re: Can a PCX150 stop faster than a FZ-07?
I dunno, the Double Leading Shoe front brake on my 1970 650 Triumph is just plain fantastic, was used from '68-'70. A DLS setup is more expensive than a typical Single Leading Shoe because it has a cam on both ends of the shoes and spreads both ends of the shoes simultaneously and equally. I know th...

Re: Burgman 400 to PCX 125
I just changed the oil on both bikes yesterday, just because I thought the oil was looking a bit dark, not because it was time. Hey Mel, I hear ya. I know Honda's recommended interval is 5k miles, but I'm a bit old school and that seems like a lot of mileage for 1 quart of oil and no oil filter, ju...

Re: A small victory, plus "Preaching to the Choir"
MHO the motorcycle business has changed a lot since the '80s. There sure are a lot less dealers than there once was. And it seems that - unlike back then - one MC brand (HD) has the lions share of the market. Its bad enough that the only non-HD dealer near me (Suburban metro area) sells Honda, Kawa...

Re: Burgman 400 to PCX 125
Downsizing can be a good thing especially if old age is creeping up on your riding skills or ability to ride in comfort. I thought I'd someday have a big touring cruiser but since they weigh over 800 lbs I found that to be a less desirable characteristic at this stage of my life. I'm beginning to r...

Re: 2018 Scooter Cannonball
I thought so too, but ....... does the PCX meet 3 of 5 ? 2.1.1 A scooter is a two or three wheeled vehicle that satisfies AT LEAST THREE OF FIVE of the following conditions: • 2.1.1.1 unit construction of engine, transmission and rear swingarm. • 2.1.1.2 wheels no larger than 10in. • 2.1.1.3 origina...

Sheeez. Wouldn't the tires and other stuff slow that PCX down ? Or is this some sort of spoof from a photo-mod ... or whatever that editing is called?I saw this on the web. It is a PCX made in Vietnam .

Re: Oil and Coolant Check
Is it too simple to just add coolant to the reservoir without checking the level at actual radiator cap? Well, yours was dry so I'd keep an eye on the reservoir and see if it goes dry again. If there's no problem with your coolant system or reservoir or cap - and it was simply due to evaporation/ w...

Re: Oil and Coolant Check
I did have some overheating problems with my 164 yuminashi kit. All coolant escapes to the top reservoir when the red light comes on the dashboard and it doesn't come back to the radiator like you think it does when engine cools off. So radiator is empty and top reservoir full. Without undoing the ...

Re: 2018 Honda PCX Performance
Putting their elaborate sales pitch aside, if you send an offset temperature reading to the computer and that changes the air/fuel mixture to be richer, wont that help with performance? Interesting thought. I had a 150 Stellla 2-Stroke that was setup as new to make emission standards - right on the...

Re: Happy birthday Horse (my PCX)
Bravo, Nice going !!! Wondering how often you've changed the final drive fluid in the rear. Asking because when I changed mine at the initial 600 mile check (wasn't called for but I did it anyway), the fluid had an obvious gray /metal shine to it. Thanks.

That's my FIFTH rear tyre issue in 2 1/2 years. *sigh*. Sheeeesh, that's awful. What's causing these, is there some sort of landfill or transfer station near you that debris is falling out of the trucks or new development construction or ????? When I haul debris to the transfer site in my pickup I ...
