Re: Rollers or Sliders

Mine's stock, a 150cc 2013 model, so I voted rollers/15g.

When they eventually wear down, I'll probably get the NCY bits recommended on pg. 1. I'm happy with the stock acceleration, but would like another 5 mph on top.

Re: Is it ok to use injector cleaner and if so, how often.

It's a good idea to use Techron injector cleaner annually, per instructions. (Unless you have some reason to suspect dirty injectors)

Mixing it down to the 1.3 gallon level is going to be a challenge though...

Re: Air Filter question

Great discussion on K&N. The thing that gave me pause was the price of K&N vs. OEM and the fact that this isn't a powerful engine anyway. FWIW: I have had the K&N in my Accord for at least 60,000 miles and have not had a lick of trouble. Just follow the directions, which say to squeeze o...

Re: LED Tail Light bulb

Ishkabibble, you sure do want a lot of hand-holding, for a simple $20 mod, don't you? :-) in this thread, you have at least 3 people who tried and succeeded with just a basic LED 1157 replacement, but the one guy whom it didn't work for has got you all worried. Doesn't it seem likely to you that he ...

Re: Seat 7 from BikerBitz

Does anyone think the stock saddle is good enough? (Fellow short people?) And I have the dreaded 2013. I'm 5'8" with a 30" inseam and my wife is Chinese with about a 26" inseam. When my knees start to feel stiff, I just use the other foot position for a minute. Numb bum is my enemy he...

A quick search didn't unveil anything current nearby, just a place with bad reviews that is closed.

Re: Transport methods to Florida

Two months is a long time. Are you a snowbird? If so, just buy another scooter for FL. If not, maybe just buy a used scooter when you're down there. Or look into long term rental? They've GOT to have something like that for snowbirds.

On vacation, missing my PCX

I'm currently down in Gatlinburg Tennessee. We have taken a few day trips in the Smoky Mountains, and they have these tight, twisty, hilly roads here. My car is a Honda Accord EX stick shift, and I have a really nice set of sporty All Season BFGoodrich tires on it. It is doing really well, but still...

Re: Full Face & 3/4

The most common place to hit the head in a bike wreck is the chin. I've crashed 3 times, and twice, the chin bar on the full face helmet saved me jaw surgery.

If you're going to compromise, modular is the way to go. ( though their chin bars are not as robust as a full face helmet's)

Re: Most Ingenious Way to Carry a . . .

I carried a Minecraft suitcase home over the back seat with a bungee strap the other day. In the US, it is surprising to see folks carrying anything but a backpack while riding.

I do feel like some of those guys are taking their lives in their hands, on the other hand.

Re: The number one reason you love PCX

I put the user-friendly one. But for me, it was the perfect compromise scooter. Quick and fast enough to be useful just about everywhere. Great Honda execution. I've found through experience that bigger scooters leave me wanting some of the motorcycle virtues, esp. high speed stability and price/cc ...

Mine's a 2013, Missing one factory key, and the plastic on the one remaining is cracked a little. This MIGHT be the one you need, any local locksmith will cut it for you. I just had a couple extra made this way. Locksmith probably won't have them hanging on the wall. https://www.amazon.com/Honda-Ke...

Re: How much did you pay for your PCX?

Mine's a 2013, bought it last week with 6700 miles on it for $2200 + taxes and state fees, etc. Missing the tool kit, manual. Cover to the battery is broken. Needs tires pretty soon. Pain is perfect, included a nice Givi wind screen. Missing one factory key, and the plastic on the one remaining is c...

First week with the PCX150 and first impressions

First a little background, to hopefully establish a bit of street cred. ;) Started with a 50cc Honda Metro. Great quality. Lacked acceleration, even when the 38 mph top speed was adequate. Quality was impeccable though; everything was perfectly thought-out. Genuine (PGO) Buddy 125; first gen. with t...

Re: Is my new PCX 150 too small for me?

I have 30" legs, and it fits me perfectly with the stock seat, so I can see how you'd feel cramped. Asians (who this bike was designed by/for) have short legs. Going to a non-stepped seat will help for sure; I'm not sure how much. But then it won't be comfortable for a passenger. I guess this i...

Re: wish my pcx was 5 mph faster on hills

This is an issue with every bike under 1000cc. With a 50, acceleration is slow, even if the top speed will let you (eventually) keep up in town. With a 125-150, it can't keep up on hills outside of town With a 400, it's breathing hard to keep up with traffic going 75-80. With a 600 twin.... well OK,...

It could be a real Hardley-Ableson. It's a husband/wife pair that own those two bikes. The woman (wisely) chose the Goldwing.
