Re: Do you hit the corners hard? Go around turns fast?

Nothing to worry about here. If you aren't dragging parts you don't need better tires. When you do start dragging parts, try sliding your butt to the inside of the turn and leaning your body into the turn. When you are dragging a knee, Kenny Roberts style it may be time for a new scooter. If you are...

Re: Can I get a smaller seat or what are my options?

You can also talk to a local upholstery shop. They can reshape and recover your existing seat. If you find the PCX is still too big for you I would suggest the Genuine Buddy. The same size scooter comes in a 50, 125, 150 and 170, depending on the year. I loved mine and was looking to get another whe...

Re: Apple will block texting....

Our car has Apple Car Play. One of the features is texting. The car tells you that you received a text. It asks if you would like it read to you. Then it asks if you want to respond. You speak and it texts. This isn't as distracting as it sounds. Also, the car will stay in its own lane, even in curv...

Re: Just when you thought you'd seen it all

Trials riders can go straight up a wall or even backward without putting a foot down. On the other hand, Valentino Rossi puts a foot out at 200 mph entering a turn "because it feels good". Marc Marquez began the technique of putting his knee down in the turns. Everyone thought he was crazy...

Re: Running lights

Sorry. I just read this. I didn't measure anything. Just eyeballed the bulbs. They were the 194 LEDs from Pep Boys. They fit just fine. A spherical bulb like an 1157 would require a much larger hole. Since i was drilling down from the top and not the back, that was my main concern. I used a piggybac...

Mine works fine. Just like the one on my Suzuki. I'm just too lazy to use it.

Re: Hard bags?

That bike was WAY before its time. People just didn't get it and sales never took off. A magnificent design, fully covered 800cc PROVEN Honda engine. I wish Honda still produced the Pacific Coast. Looks better than a Gold Wing then, and still today. I would step away from the Precious for a new Pac...

Re: Running lights

It looks good. I don't know what the law says about blue lights on the front of the bike but I have seen some cars that have lights similar to that color. By the way, you can purchase a 'snake' that has claws on the end of it that you could use to pick up that bulb. It is a spring with the claw in ...

Running lights

I was looking for a way to install LEDs in the international non-US turn indicator location. I didn't feel like dismantling the whole scooter to get to it so I tried a different angle. I popped off the trim between the lights and the windshield. I drilled a hole in the top edge the correct size for ...

Re: Hard bags?

Yup. . .know what you mean. I'm just cheap. That being said the upside to them is they have some flexibility if you try to stuff something like a full size box of White Castle Cheeseburgers in there. If the package doesn't fit all the way you can just zip it shut as far as it will allow and let the...

Re: Hard bags?

Yeah, I already have some soft bags and I probably won't be doing any long trips on the PCX but those hard bags pictured above are so good looking! I'm still lusting after them. Tail trunks are useful too but detract from the scooters sexy good looks,

Re: Don't Be Complacent!

A useful tool for all riders is the mental game of "what's the worst that could happen?" I used to ride with a guy who would take blind curves on the wrong side of the road. He was sure no one was coming the other way. Another guy did what I call the 10 minute pass. When passing another ve...

Re: I'm back ... and need some help please.

There are some pretty good youtube videos on how to strip the plastics off a PCX. The use of a plastic pry or taped up putty knife was a new one for me. It seems most people break at least a few "clips".

ATGATT, all the gear all the time. Great sentiment but reality is a little different. I'm a most of the gear most of the time kind of rider. You could suit up with an airbag equipped full race set of leathers or shorts and flip-flops. The best/worst feature of any helmet is fit. My first really good...

Re: Gas Going Up 40 Cents Per Gallon in U.S. by Summer

I got my first scooter in '06 when gas hit $4 in the San Francisco Bay Area. I had just purchased a new Harley when my job changed. It would mean leaving my brand new bike at a train (BART) station for days at a time. No problem, I'll just buy an old beater motorcycle. Thing is, every Hummer or Expe...

Re: Hard bags?

Thanks for the info. I saw the ADV page but it looked like that guy stumbled on some of the same pics I did. $600 plush shipping and painting seems a bit steep but I might still consider it. After all, I'm selling the GoldWing and switching to the PCX. I still can't find a link to any vendor of thos...

Hard bags?

While perusing youtube I saw a video, series of still photos actually, of modified PCXs. The video was from Vietnam. Several of them had integrated hard saddlebags. They looked factory, like on the GoldWing, not cobbled together like Givi or another aftermarket brand. Any idea what they are and wher...
