Re: How Does the PCX 150 Rate Carrying a Passenger?
Wait -- are you talking about moving up from a 50cc scoot (the Genuine?) to the PCX? If so, I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised by the PCX. Yup. . .it's also known as a PGO PMX. Nice machine. . .for a 49cc it goes like a bat outta hell. But I live in a coastal community and when it's windy,...

Re: How Does the PCX 150 Rate Carrying a Passenger?
In addition to the history about the handling characteristics under load, I especially value the information on aftermarket shocks. I'm no lightweight. But I'm still under 300 lbs.. If they happen to have a "Forza" on the showroom floor when I'm in the market for the PCX I will have ...

Re: Rant about maintenance costs
Two weeks later he is still stepping over extension cords in his house! I don't want to get too far off the subject but it sounds to me like you are too good of a neighbor. I'm all about helping people get back up on their feet in a moment of weakness. . .not do their walking for them. Unfortunatel...

How Does the PCX 150 Rate Carrying a Passenger?
Just wondered. . .I've seen the load capacity stated to be 397 lbs. except the "KO" PCX. Does the "KO" designation mean some kine of anti pollution hardware? That seems to lessen the load capacity. Also does the PCX handle riding two up fairly well? Enough room for the passenger?...

Re: Rant about maintenance costs
That sounds like the same neighbour that "borrows" something for so long that they think it's their's, and if you do ever get it back, it's totally ruined or in poor condition (which would be why you got it back...). Well. . .the "ruined and in poor condition" part happen...

Re: Mobil 4T, suitable for PCX?
I had been a life-long Castrol user, but switched to Mobil 1 full syn at 120,000 miles. Thanks for the info. . .I'll add that to my list of pros and cons when I get ready to do the first PCX oil change. BTW I did "Pikes Peak" back in the '70s. It started out as rain at the base and ended ...

Re: Rant about maintenance costs
The more you succeed, the more you can try other things. Truer words have never been spoken. It's all about overcoming "fear of the unknown". Life is a trip. . .enjoy the ride! I've already started checking my inventory of tools to see what I'll need for the PCX. Not too many. . .but I th...

Re: Mobil 4T, suitable for PCX?
Yeah. . .there's a bunch of stuff in it including boron. . .the wintergreen is for scent but it does have cleaning properties. And there's a couple of different types of benzene as well I think. The list goes on and on and all the details. . .it may not be for everyone but I gotta say with a grin it...

Re: Mobil 4T, suitable for PCX?
It is just an additive. It smells like it's got oil of wintergreen in it. . .I also used it one time to free up a stuck piston from an engine that sat too long. It's not meant to be used by itself as "the engine oil". . .just as an additive. Now about the "Eye of newt and toe of frog&...

Any time I've ever gotten a new motorcycle or whatever I've always topped off the gas tank right away if it wasn't full from the dealership.

Well. . .one thing about Marvel Mystery Oil is it absolutely will make the engine smell like Wintergreen Candies. . .

Re: Mobil 4T, suitable for PCX?
I haven't seen Marvel Mystery Oil mentioned yet as an additive here. I've used it in my vehicles. Not motorcycles due to the clutch. Not my 2-stroke scooter. But I'll bet it could be used in a PCX. The thing is the first time you use it the product really goes to work clearing out sludge and crap in...

Lets take a moment and try to imagine relocating some folks to America and imposing our restrictions and limitations on their activities or freedom . . . My pcx loaded For some bizarre reason I'm not seeing the picture of your PCX. Must be a technical glitch or coding issue. :geek: If you think people loading up bikes is funny, check out this page, it's amazing what some people can fit on a bike: A freaking refrigerator. Holy cow !!! And then some. ...

Re: Tire issue ? or Not ? Question
On another note if you don't feel safe riding it just bring it to a dealer mechanic and see if they can figure it out. Safety first! I've had a caliper get out of wack on a Jeep so that when I hit the brakes the front end pulled to one side. I brought it to a mechanic and he said the caliper showed ...

Please keep going until you find out what the problem finally is and let us know what you came up with as a solution. Inquiring minds need to know. . . :geek: Sorry I can't opt in and try anything to duplicate your experiment because I won't have my PCX until the end of summer. My current scooter (G...
