Re: Battery life on the 300? (or something else)
Hi, Pete. I hear you lucky brits (isn't Kent somewhere out-there) can ride all year if brave enough! You say, not a problem in 18,400 miles, all very good. But what about the rear brake pads ? Many people over here in the swamps can't get much more than around 7-8,000 miles out of them... I can live...

Re: Battery life on the 300? (or something else)
First, remove the battery cover (3 phillips#3 bolts at the bottom of the underseat). There, look for loose pole connection(s).Then check static static batt. voltage (w. switch OFF): should be min.12.6 volts, 12.8 is perfect. Then push that starter button, and check the batt. voltage drop. What does ...

Re: Oxford Premium Touring heated grips
Luca, All the Green and Green/Black wires end up bolted together to the frame, behind the right side plastic side cover. I think they thus can all be seen as 'simple' grounds. The G/Bk ones indeed serve as sensors' grounds. I can't see how using one as 'ordinary' ground could disturb the electronics...

...and use its G/Bk as ground. ...make sure that G/R wire is big enough to carry the grips current... Sorry, the ground will be the G/Bk of DLC but the 12V will be the R/Bu of ACC. Is it right? What's the G/R wire? Thanks and bye, Luca Luca, ERROR. Should be GREEN/BLACK. I was in a hurry, thinking ...

Re: Oxford Premium Touring heated grips
Luca,
I wish to add : make sure that G/R wire is big enough to carry the grips current, though.
IMO it should be able to handle the grips' 4 amps (but I have no exact idea on its AGW rating, so
can't take any responsability, here. 'Check if it gets hot' is my best advice.

Re: Oxford Premium Touring heated grips
Honda calls it DLC (Data Link Connector). On the diagram, it is located right next to Fusebox 'A'.
Yes, the one with the red cap. You can discard that cap no problem and use its G/Bk as ground.

Re: Oxford Premium Touring heated grips
Just a last question: where can i connect the ground of grips? Is there a ground connect near the fuse box? Thanks in advance and bye, Luca. Luca, Yes, the Green/Black wire (part of the red-capped diagnostic plug) IS a ground wire. Just remove that red cap and connect your grips' ground wire right ...

Re: Brake Pas Wear
Thanks,
My Forza's FRONT ones still had 50% left at 13,000km (with the rears weared out).
I'd sure like to hear from other PCX owners, to compare with. I had never paid much attention to
pad wear on my previous bikes, but it looks like an issue on many small wheel scooters...

Re: Bar end screwdriver size?
No JIS bits, here in Siberia. When I buy Phillips bits, I bring JIS bolts with me and check for fit. Not one brand fits exactly the same. Last time I found a nice fitting #3, I bought the house. Ya, but when I took my PCX in the store to try the screw driver in the bar end, the sales guy kind of fr...

Re: Oxford Premium Touring heated grips
On2wwheels, Nice photos, but Forza and NC 750 are two different beasts. No such thing as your 7.5A -fused 'alarm' socket on the Forza (only a cigarette lighter-type socket designed for very light loads, like cell charging). Then feeding heated grips from a 5A-designed source is possible, but borderl...

Re: Oxford Premium Touring heated grips
Luca,
Oxford's site says the grips draw 'less than 4 amps, so you should be OK. (I thought it was more like 100 watts/8.5 amps).
Were you aware of that accessory socket FROM THE START? (It's intended for cellulars, not really
heated stuff).

Re: Bar end screwdriver size?
I first tried to remove the Forza's using my favorite non-JIS Phillips#3 screwdriver. They wouldn't move at all, so I didn't insist. Then gave them a go with a 1/4"-drive little cordless impact+standard #3 bit...and bingo they went out just-like-that. I put some anti-seize on top of the f,,,ing...

Re: Judering and vibrations while taking off!
Hey guys my 2013 pcx 125 seems to be vibrating harshly while taking off after about 25kmph it smoothes out. What might be the issue? At what mileage? Usually, the driven pulley (be it loose/dry bearings, or glazed shoes, or bad springs). Remove the belt cover and have a look. Seems they all come fr...

Re: What do YOU set valve clearances to?
dick,
The PCX is pretty, and good. But is a pita to work on, isn't it.
Before the Forza, had the Smax : all that was needed to remove to have the valve cover jump
into your face was 4 screws+ a small cover...took about 30 seconds once I had rounded out that
cover's tabs. I miss that.
