Re: Had a first for me on the PCX today

I pass those types of vehicles all the time, but then our street has a 45 mph speed sign...like that means anything to a Dodge Charger, a Tesla, a Maserati, a new 'Vette, Lamborghini, etc. Still, I get to jump ahead at the light for a few seconds before one those cars flies past me only to hit his ...

The new shocks in red really look great with your white PCX. :)

Re: Newbie learning moment

On my PCX it’s located where the kill switch is on a motorcycle. I believe some PCX models have an idle switch instead.

Newbie learning moment

Though I’d share what happened today. I took the PCX to my early morning yoga class, and when I went to leave, the bike wouldn’t start. Instant panic started. I turned the key back and forth, put the kickstand up and down and up again. Nothing... then I saw the kill switch (that I never touch) and w...

Re: Truthfully, how often do you check your oil?

Thanks Mel. Good idea. Do you check your oil cold or after the bike’s warmed up? Cold would be super easy for me to check each morning, waiting 3-5 minutes to do it on a warm bike, not as convenient. I understand the oil expands with heat so the reading won’t be as accurate cold, but would confirm I...

Truthfully, how often do you check your oil?

Do you do it everyday, like the manual says, or once a week, or even less often?

Thanks!

Re: Shuttle won’t stay open

Update: I tried the electrical contact cleaner to remove the oil and dirt, waited a while for it to evaporate, and then spayed the Teflon based dry lubricant. Turned the shutter a few times to work it in, and it went from feeling gritty to being smooth as silk, and is working great. Thanks again for...

Re: Shuttle won’t stay open

You are probably right to think about cleaning the whole key assembly. I guess you used a drop or two of regular oil and the shutter is now working fine. The issue is that the oil will attract dust and dirt and possibly get gummy over time. I would be looking for something like electrical contact c...

Re: Shuttle won’t stay open

Thanks for the suggestions. The shutter seems to be working again. Next question, any way to clean inside where the key goes?

Re: Shuttle won’t stay open

Thanks WhiteNoise. I really appreciate this group, as I’m the only rider in my circle of friends and family. Everyone is so patient with my newbie questions.

This group is so helpful and I’ve been reading a lot of the older posts and making good use of the search feature. :)

Shuttle won’t stay open

Help!!!! This morning after sitting for a few days, I couldn’t get the shuttle to open. It had rained, and although the bike was covered I assumed dampness was the problem. I used 3 in 1 oil, and let it sit, and I was able to get the shuttle open. But it won’t stay open when I remove to shuttle open...
