Re: Making the rear brake pads last???

I have noticed the parking brake doesn't hold that securely. You could ride away not realizing it was on quickly destroying the pads. I wonder if any of the events reported hear could have been due to that. You would only have to make the mistake once.

How to attach cargo net to pillion?

I like to keep a cargo net to secure things to the pillion, when needed. On my Burgmans, the net hooks fit reasonably securely on the bottom of the seat edge. They don't fit well on the Forza seat. So I was wandering how others secure their cargo nets. I know I can get a luggage rack for the top box...

Re: My Wedsday ride

I visit my mom in Florida once or twice a year and have taken multiple trips (1200 miles each way) on both a Burgman 400 and 650. I normally take I95 the whole way except for the Washington Beltway (I495) , the Richmond beltway I295, and a 1 hour stretch on the Florida Turnpike. I just made the trip...

Re: Question about buying a Forza

<<Malossi rear shocks>>

How much did they help? I find the oem shocks don't do a good job if I run over a shallow pothole or bump.

I got the Maxia 4 case with Admore lights. The Admore kit comes with positap connectors which seem to provide a reliable connection (knock on wood).

Re: Running wire from accessory outlet to outside for GPS

I finally did this. (I was away on vacation for a couple of weeks). I did it similarly to dergav except: - instead of running an accessory outlet, I ran the Garmin 2597LMT OEM charger/cable from the glove box up through the hole in the center area of the handlebars. - The hole location is more towar...

Re: Question about buying a Forza

Shrink13, I'm an old fart too, and downsized from a Burgman 650 for the same reason. The Givi Air Flow screen is adjustable to your preference and the little Givi V56 Top Box seems adequate in size for me ;) My Forza is a 2016 model. I'm satisfied so far. You will achieve your goals with this move, ...

Re: Tool recommendations (UK) for torgue/impact bike servici

Impact wrenches require sockets that are designed for impact wrenches; harder metal. They are labeled as such. Using regular sockets with them is dangerous because the may break and turn into missiles. I started off with a manual impact wrench which you use by striking it with a hammer. That pushes ...

Re: Salmon Arm finally

Were you wearing ear plugs? I find they make a huge improvement in comfort, especially if riding a long time and / or at higher speeds. Much less stressful. I have the GIVI airflow windscreen. It is adjustable. I'm short and need it in the lowest position in order to look over the screen. It throws ...

Re: First 100 mile trip on my Forza NSS300A

rmc10,

You are spoiled. When I had my Burgman 400, I routinely took it to Florida, Canada, Mexico via Interstates & didn't think anything of it. Having had a Burgman 650, knowing how much better it is on the Interstate, I am now aware of "the problem".

<<So I picked up one for Hondas in the right diameter for the Forza’s throttle & grip.>> I had actually saved the link to your post (not realizing it was you), expecting to have to follow your procedure. The difference must be you used a "Honda" Vista Cruise and I used a Universal Vist...

<< Vista-Cruise throttle lock (which took modifying the throttle grip)>>

Strange ... I didn't need to modify the throttle grip to install a Universal Vista Cruise for 7/8" handlebar.

RAM Brake/Clutch Mount 1" Ball

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012TT8BK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I had issues with installing this. To get it to fit you needed to leave the existing clamp in place to use it as a spacer. However, if you try to torque it to 9 ft-lb (as per the Forza manual), you will des...

Re: Tapping the battery terminals for accessory access

Update: I connected the Gerbing harness to the battery and ran the harness wire out through a notch in the battery cover. I taped the harness fuse box onto the battery to position it under the raised portion in the back center of the battery cover. (strip of 3M clear duct tape). I plan to get some l...

Re: Top speed?

I took a test ride on Rt 55 (Southern NJ) today. The posted speed limit is 65mph, but traffic moves on it between 65 and 80mph. I maintained 70 to 75mph, occasionally drifting into the upper 70's, zipping past the slower cars. I was not "pushing it" and had reserve for more. I would descri...

Re: First 100 mile trip on my Forza NSS300A

Me too. I'm just about to turn 66 and just downsized from a Burgman 650 to the Forza 300 for the same reason. I also like it, but everything is a compromise. I'm still setting it up and haven't taken any long trips on it yet. If my plan were to continue taking trips of thousands of miles each, I wou...

Re: Tapping the battery terminals for accessory access

So after thinking about this some more I think I'll drill a hole on the left side of the battery cover and place a grommet around the hole. Then I'll run the connector/wire up through the hole and through a section of wire conduit to a little bag end to hold/store the coiled wire with capped connect...
