Corrosion X works well on chains for winter storage. You can also brush it on to any exposed metal to seal it every 6 months.

Re: Headlight Upgrades
I don't see anything tighter than 60 degrees at Kawell. This is ridiculously wide for use on the street. Perfect for lighting up the tree tops and shining in peoples eyes. . http://kawelldeal.com/index.php . 10 degrees is much better for getting down the road at speed at night. . http://stores.advmo...

It all depends on whether your scooter is transportation or toy.

Re: How bad is residual salt on a dry road?
Wow! This topic is reaching a panic stage. Better vacuum seal our PCX's in plastic wrap to make sure we can peer longingly at them through the plastic wrap, unchanged, forever.

Those add on LED bars make excellent daytime running lights but what kind of pattern do those throw down the road at night?

Salt. Shmalt. Scooters don't even have chains. Ride whenever you want.

That's a pretty nice custom seat cover. If you don't want to just cover the holes with round patches as I did.

Where is a cheaper cover?

Re: Headlight Upgrades
Could you do a shot of an "acceptable" pattern first? My Yamaha R3 retains a beautiful low beam pattern even with an HID conversion. Sharp vertical cut off with zero splash that might dazzle oncoming drivers even though I now have twice as much light to see with. . . https://scontent.xx.f...

Let's see a beam shot at a wall to check out how much of the acceptable pattern remains.

There was one other person here who's leg was broken when he went over on the right side in the ditch and his leg was pinned by the running board.

Re: Motorcycle Waterproof Heated Gloves USB/mains re-Chargea
I use plug in heated liners that I can wear under all my different moto gear and my anual mileage instead of the car went up 30% when I got it. Get something nice that you will enjoy using for years. . http://www.ventureheat.com/power-sports/47-motorcycle-heated-glove-liners.html . Name brand stuff ...

Re: PCX design flaw--IMHO
In what way would you redesign it? Eliminate the running boards and just have foot pegs? There are plenty of motorcycles like that already if you want to give up the weather protection of a scooter.flyingzonker wrote:redesign the machine in such a way that foot pinning would be less of a likelihood.

I haven't changed the rear gear fluid yet but will use gear oil in that even though engine oil is also speced as ok.db22 wrote: do you use Mobil 1 in the gear section as well, or some type of gear oil?

Re: PCX 150 for 60 miles/day?
I ride my PCX150 75 miles round trip to work at 55 mph through all wind and rain. 19,000 miles. Almost due for the second rear tire. The original front can go a little further. Should do the third valve adjustment and maybe the third air filter. Mobil 1 automotive oil changes every 5,000 in the driv...

Re: Headlight Upgrades
The copper braid ones are lower power and may not be any brighter than a halogen. And the HS5 bulbs are an oddball with a very short glass length so you have to make sure that you will get the correct focal point.
